Do these Russian villagers speak the world's hardest language? 🇷🇺

Join me on a quest into the deep dark mountains of Dagestan, to deliver something to a man I once knew.
Today, we journey up to the village of Khuchni, and so our adventure begins - as all good adventures do - with a gruelling slog through a league of sticky mud. By all accounts, we have paid our dues. Will we find our man? Or shall we forever bear this burden, like an albatross across our shoulders, for all our numbered days?

Honestly these are some of the best travel videos I've ever seen, I cannot get over how raw of an experience you're capturing, to not even call ahead and still be embraced so warmly is incredibly moving. Please keep making these if you can, they trounce even the BBC.

I think it’s already been and gone lol. I tend to overbook myself with these kinds of things on my travels… I’m glad you enjoy the content man :)

As a retired university professor who studied the region, I find these videos to be among the best I.have ever seen

My sergeants were Tabasarans when I was serving in the Russian army in 2019. Lovely people❤

Love your channel. The low view count only adds to the sense of wonder ( why is this channel not have lots of views) and of being alone in almost empty landscapes. How many languages do you speak?

I guess I don't upload enough haha. As the channel grows, though, I feel more able to spend time on it. So let's see :) Russian is the only foreign language I speak well. I enjoyed Latin and French at school but that was many years ago. I was pretty good at Hungarian but that was a labour of love that didn't really pass a cost-benefit analysis since I don't live in Hungary. I've been working on Persian recently and I hope to make videos from that part of the world in the near future.

That fruit is a quince. It's quite a hard fruit. In Hungary where I live, they make a compote or a jelly out of it. Personally, not my cup of tea.

The fruit at 22:30 is called "айва", or "quince" in english according to wikipedia

Yeah I was surprised that’s what they look like! It’s an unusual fruit in Britain but apparently common over there
