Great work, especially for mintabe, imo the most frustrating of aussy Opal,, but sometimes spectacular. Love the little cushion cut,, make a lovely ring stone, Great to see you looking / sounding better 👍

It definitely is a pain to cut most of the time. It's really nice to be healthy again so thank you Scott :)

I concur with 600, it is my favorite nova burr. I like the results. A shame about the milky potch, second only to sand in frustration level. A question: where did you get the sweet tweezers? Nice to see you back into the cutting groove. See you next time.

Hi Don! The tweezer's I am sure came as a freebie with something I had bought in the past, maybe a gem torch or loupe perhaps, sorry I cannot remember

Nice 👌 you did well considering every flaw that an opal can have all seem to happen at the same time with mintabie 😂 you beat the sand, welcome to crack town. You beat the cracks, you get fog over the colour. If only they all faced as well as they look from the side. Look forward to next weeks vid 🙂

You're spot on! Problems are a plenty with Mintabie! Thank you mate!

Great video. Enjoyed the problem solving. Mintabie rough can be a Heartbreaker. I just had one piece of Mintabie kick me in the balls :) Tough to make money on this parcel. In my limited experience, opals like these need standard, maybe even calibrated, cuts if selling to jeweler. I buy rough in small volumes and do ok, but I have to be super careful WRT price.

Yeah Mintabie is generally a no go for myself, just too many risks involved, but when it goes right, its fantastic! Thanks for commenting, glad you liked the video :)

The biggest problem I have with your videos is the VOLUME is way too low, i have a smart TV i watch on... The volume goes from 1-100 this video i had it at 92 to be able to hear you... You either need a better mic or to boost the volume during editing. This makes me hesitant to watch your posts, almost every video i watch my volume is under 40

This is really valuable feedback, thank you for letting me know! I will boost my talking volumes in next weeks video to hopefully make a change. Many thanks! :D
