It's called a sodium-vapor lamp. They were pretty common as street lamps because they were very energy efficient and the specific wavelength is one that humans are most sensitive to. They actually have about the same efficiency as LED lights, but LED lights last a lot longer, so sodium-vapor lamps are pretty rare nowadays.

In the 80s and 90s I worked for a major photofinishing lab. I not only learned, but taught color theory. There is no color in the world, it is only perceived by your brain ( hence color blindness). Sun light is primarily R, G and B (a little more but they don't count much in color perception). Putting equal acetate R, G, B filters in front of a white light projector you will get white. Due to an objects molecular structure, ie. a red apple, G + B will be absorbed and R will reflect back to color receptors in you eyes so your brain tells you it is red. It's a little more complicated than that, but that is the basics and how we made color photos from the film you took into the store. Loved the video! thanks.

The donuts illusion is also helped by the fact that the colored stripes are also inside the lid. The color is reflecting off the frosting.

For the star one, the background kinda started to fade out and then it faded back in. Pretty cool illusion!

In all honesty im hearing that about him for the first time and i even though you are saying it i still dont know if its true. In the end you see the forest for the trees.

I love optical illusions so much. They remind me that each of us is unable to see "truth". Our senses and mind filters create what we perceive, not what's really there. That's why we have science: to overcome our illusion perceptions and find universel facts :)

The fading-away effect was happening with the “Dream” thing but I started to see the colors on the whole wall when I looked away, “In Video Wall”

Lighting up a torch in a monochromatic room to show the true colours of objects is so cool. Wanna try that

To me I swear I seen all three Grey lights and none of the colors changed when he covered them up the green was green before he covered it up and the purple was purple etc it just looked like green purple and orange next to Grey stop lights this happen to anyone els
