Do sand FLEAS taste good??

Ойын-сауық

Well do they? There are two types of sand fleas/sand crabs you can catch in the surf zone. Soft shell and hard shell. I love soft shell crab rolls at the sushi place, so I thought why wouldn't soft shell sand crabs be as delicious? I caught some of these little crabs and cooked them on the beach with my pan and butter. . . Ok, I put too much butter this time...but still I don't think it would make the results any different.

He did it all wrong! First you carefully wash the sand fleas in the purest spring water (slightly chilled). Then in the skillet melt 2-3 tablespoons of butter, add some fresh minced garlic, salt, and pepper (maybe a dash of cayenne pepper). After a minute or so, AND THIS IS THE IMPORTANT STEP, throw away the sand fleas and add shrimp to the pan. Cook thoroughly and enjoy!

Props. I've seen, in person, in life, dudes bite live bullfrogs in half, dudes eatin minnows straight out of the pond, and a fella that managed to down a straight out of the pond crappie without cook or clean. You've joined those ranks even though you cooked it through in butter. Good on ya!

You should bring a box. It is more efficient. You also need two buckets: one for washing off the sand and the other to keep the crabs alive. You can deep fry them with chilis or just pan fry them with seasoning. The ones with roe taste better.

U gotta prep them by letting em poop in a bucket overnight, removing the shell (even if it's soft) and remove the guts. Then cook the legs and meat with butter and whatever seasoning and they taste fire yo

You really only want the hard shells not soft. I have cooked them for myself and kids and we enjoyed them. When done right they taste like lobster bisque. Don't give up. Keep the vids coming.

I like this video because exactly what I though would happen did happen. I'm sure they taste good when prepared the correct way but I never really see anyone just cook seafood fresh out of the water without cleaning/gutting it. That might've contributed to the bad taste.

cooked a few times here in Australia- It'll more be people people that never go near the ocean, which is common in america since a large chunk of the population lives inland, alongside the fact that people in Asia are often much more resourceful and adventurous in terms of their cooking.

Lots of people eat shrimp shells, you just have to cook them a certain way to make them edible. Whole salt & pepper shrimp wok fried Cantonese style is meant to to be eaten with the shell on. It's where a lot of the flavor is when you season them and cook them right.
