What grows hair?
✅Commitment
✅Consistency
✅Care (being extremely gentle)
✅Cleansing (solid scalp and hair cleansing regimen)
✅Crops (crops (vegetables), overall diet, ample water
Hair is constantly growing, but must be maintained to thrive. (Cleansing, grooming)
I have used these ingredients to help me achieve waist length hair. In addition, you must keep your hair in protective styles (twists, braids) for long periods of time. (3 - 4 weeks at a time etc) practice gratefulness, positive mindset, excellent diet, proper sleep, consistency, exercise, gentle detangling, no heat at all (my experience), daily oiling of hair ends , deep scalp massage, diy natural mild shampoos and deeply moisturizing diy conditioners, practice mindfulness and lower stress. The results are my own. All results vary. Hair does not grow long overnight. Average hair growth is 6 inches a year. I started my natural hair journey 10 years ago but had many setbacks as it took many years of research and trial and error to find methods/products that worked for me. Of the 10 years, it took me roughly 4 years to achieve waist length hair.
More insight: I’m a non-smoker and do not drink alcoholic beverages, nor do I take any medications.

Finally, someone is honest. I have never had more length retention than when I started doing nothing to my hair. I do nothing but water daily or, at the very least, every 2 days. I moisture and seal enough on my wash day. So for the week, I just hydrate daily. Sometimes, I make 2 wks. I have been natural since 2016. My hair never touched my shoulders. My bangs didn't grow past my eyebrows because it kept breaking. This past year, since I stopped using a lot of products per other youtubers and left my hair alone, my bangs stretch past my chin. The back stretch past my bra strap. I focus more on hydration instead of moisturizer. I couldn't be happier.

Sister is right!!! Ask any man with shoulder, mid-back or waist length hair what is the secret. Leave it alone: spritz with water every few days, oil the scalp a bit once or twice a week, and massage with finger tips. That is all. Maybe unbraid shampoo/condition, rebraid & cut ends every 2-4weeks. My hair went from shoulder length to top of shoulder blades in 2 months. Be gentle with take downs, and you will be fine!! We, as Black Americans, have been taught to "Fry, dye & slick it to the side!" Well, the results are alopecia, bald spots, and damaged scalps. Why not try something new??

I MIGHT start branching out and wearing my hair out. I am 6 inches away from having waist length and grew my hair by literally doing nothing. I’m talking no manipulation whatsoever for months on end. I don’t even wear it out. My hair is ALWAYS covered at work and at home. I don’t manipulate it unless I’m finger detangling to prevent matting. This may be controversial but I don’t wash it as often either. I wash it once every 3-4 months (this last stint was longer because I was in hustle mode) and do everything I need to do with it at that time. Then it goes back under cover. Yesterday was the first time I’d straightened my hair 6 months + months. I only did so because I was worried about my hair locking and I’m not ready for that life. I am a bit extreme but it’s working for me. Low to no manipulation works. It simply works.

I love how I'm seeing more and more girls say DO NOTHING. My hair is to my tailbone, I have been keeping my hair in braids not washing too often, not playing or touching it. I use coconut oil on the ends, and when I redo my braids and shower I finger detangle it while it's dry then quickly brush through when wet, but I do it carefully with only two or three swipes. And I have booty length hair.

A girl I knew asked how I grew my hair so long. It was relaxed and a bit past shoulder length. I told her I leave it alone and she looked at me like I had two heads because she loved to experiment with her hair. It was always cute but it wasn't the healthiest I knew it could be and I could see a lot of split ends from excessive straightening I guess. I've since stopped relaxing and became a straight natural and leave it in pin curls or wrapped around itself in a bun unless I'm leaving the house. I was almost at waist length and then I got sick and started slacking on my hair care and it's mid back again now after cutting the fried ends. Plan on going longer between straightening and the inversion method in the next few months since summer is when I get the most growth to see how much new growth I can retain by September when it cools down here Edit: I also want to state that if you have thick and/or shoulder length or longer hair, probably shorter, it’s important to detangle your hair frequently to prevent matting. If I don’t leave the house for three weeks, I’ll take my hair down, comb or finger detangle then put it back up once a week. I do it to prevents “dents” when I wrapped and now creases from the alligator clips (my hairs too thick for pin curls clips and it would take too many for small sections 😂) or stress from the scrunching if I I’m doing space buns for curls. I’ve seen it happen multiple times. It grew, but wasn’t being combed so it matted and I helped with the detangle process so I know that they were straight up mats, almost to the point of locing not minor tangles

Not anymore because I redo my braids weekly. I used to have bad tangles at roots when I left my braids in for 1 month. When I did experience tangles at roots I made sure to: Dampen roots w water or aloe juice first, then oil the roots heavily and take the tangles out single hair strand by strand 💕

Thanks for sharing your routine and advice. One question on how often you recommend shampooing. Near the 5 min mark you say you wash every 1-2 weeks but near the end you say twice a week. Years ago my hair did grow when I left it in braids/twists and washed every 2 weeks but now all the natural hair gurus say was 1-2x per week. Just wondering which approach you follow. Thanks and in addition to an amazing head of hair, your nails are out of this world! 😊

Yess I mention in the comments I meant to say twice a month💕 I would do what’s best for you, when your hair is in braids, you can wash them in braids 1x a week and your hair will not get tangled as twists do. But the key is to make sure make sure that your shampoo is Diluted!! Over washing can strip the hair. So make sure it is diluted orrrr just wash with fresh aloe gel!!! Thank you!!💕

I admit it...I'm a hair extension addict. However, not everyone was meant to grow waist-length hair. I believe genetics play a role. It's been almost 47 years, and my hair has never grown past shoulder-length. I don't hold out any hope of getting hair down to my waist, but I do think it's a good idea to give my hair some rests from extension wearing, and try some of these oils.

Yesss I believe your hair can absolutely grow to, or at least close to waistlength! Mark your calendar, commit to a routine and try this : Wear your hair in moisturized protective styles at least for 2 weeks at a time (braids/twists) using your own hair. Wash your scalp and hair every week or 2 weeks (in that protective style) with Diluted moisturizing shampoo or a Shampoo you made yourself. After two weeks, be very gentle and fully detangle take the braids out refresh your scalp w aloe juice and spray hair with water. Add avocado oil and a leave in natural conditioner such as Shea + aloe. Rebraid or Retwist it up and leave it for another 2 weeks. If you are dedicated and Do this process for 1 year. I strongly believe after 1 year you will respond back to this post saying your hair is now past shoulder length 💕

Does your workplace really allow you to wear your hair like that and you are even wearing it for 2 days, I'm sure its not tidy by that time. Nothing new about about your video

I work remote. However, I do go out wearing braids. I’ll wear it in a bun or ponytail with a nice headband or hat. It always looks neat and beautiful. Thanks for inquiring 💕

The fact that your nails are long too tells me its genes not the process

ah no. Not true. It’s due to me babying them (my nails and hair) and putting in the work with a solid regimen.

My nails grow extremely long without curling and they are as hard as nails period to me they are easier to care for than hair. I caused a lot of damage to my hair when I was a little bit younger and when I started going to the beauty salon, they caused more damage particularly with relaxers. I have been natural since 2016 and never realize ever before in my life that my hair could have such lengths potential but I also now have alopecia possibly caused by a hair stylist. I don't know if biotin helps with anything because I always had the nails before I started taking biotin. Of course they say that if you're not biotin deficient then there's really no need to take it.

When you put love & care into something it flourishes & grows. Do the opposite & it becomes weak/breaks or even dies.

I need to really do this to my hair...somehow I got caught up in the slick down look using gel.

Yes I used to always wear my hair in slick buns back in the day. It’s ok if you do that, just be mindful of the gel you use and have a good maintenance routine

@@tialynn1111 it seems better to not wear slick buns all the time because to me it's too much manipulation. It's more practical to wear my hair you wear yours. It just seems so effortless and I love that because I like simple slow living.
