It's not a street, it's a parking lot. And all the neighbors are very slow and careful to watch out for the squirrels.

Cutie was going for the FINGER!!!!!! That't NOT a NUT!!!! LOL

One of my squirrels (named him Bubby) visits my front porch every day. On cooler mornings he will have his breakfast, then crawl into the pouch of my hoodie and sleep until I finish my coffee. If he is awake, he sits on my shoulder, watching as I hand feed the other squirrels and a few jays that nest just outside my living room.

I am going through, a rough patch and watching your squirrels and Kiara, has helped me a lot.

You can do things with Cutie that you can't with some of the other squirrels. Mutual trust! Thanks for posting. It's always fun to watch.

They kind of feel like kitten claws, tiny but sharp lol. At least that’s how I remember them feeling when I rehabbed/raised an orphan squirrel

I wonder the same thing, and he is not the only one. There were other squirrels who didn't come to my window for months.

My squirrels bolt for the tree as soon as we come near the back door. And they know we throw handfuls of peanuts to them twice a day. And we're not loud or rambunctious people.

Me and my mom would feed the squirrels at our old house by hand too, now we're in a new place still trying to gain the trust of the squirrels around here.

Lol Niblets's scaredy little tap dance, then shortly after walks up to you like a totally different squirrel and calmly and fearlessly takes the nut from you. 😂 I love it when they curl their paws! 😍

Their bite can draw blood but they won't use their full strength on your finger .Its worth it.

I like it when my squirrels reach down and hold my hand with their little paw while taking the nut. So sweet. Except for one, which always seems really frantic - he tends to be really grabby so he scratches. I can't hold the nuts out in my hand like that, though. My squirrels don't get it, and they nibble my fingertips. At a previous house, I could do that with the squirrels there. They were all way more chill.

It’s a real testament to the patience & effort you’ve put in to building relationships with each individual squirrel that so many different ones are happy (or at least willing) to come & take food directly from your hand 👏🏻 It’s quite rare that I’ve ever managed to have more than one or two at any one time do that. Currently, I only have one who’s confident & comfortable enough to even come close. I can tell she’s thinking about giving it a try, but she’s still not taken the plunge yet… it’s always worth taking the time to build that trust though. Lovely little creatures 🤗♥️🥜🐿

When I feed almonds, my squirrels skin them and I end up with almond skins blowing all over 😂

So glad you always put a disclaimer so no one gets hurt, including the squirrel. 👍 If I did something like that; my fur babies will go berserk chasing the poor squirrel and somebody will probably end up hurt. I love my fur babies and the wild squirrels to put them in jeopardy. You know what you are doing because your squirrels trust you. 🥰

Squirrels are pretty smart. I take my cats out in the yard in the morning, and the squirrels will sometimes come up to them to get them to play chase. However, if a stray comes around, the squirrels will often go up into the trees and chirp warnings for all their friends.

No matter what my day is like, these videos are always a ray of light. I mean...they could all be named "Cutie" really...if you think about it. Cuties, cuties, cuties, cuties. Thank you for what you do. 🥰

This was so fun to watch!!! Cutie is the best, when it comes to being comfortable with you 😉, she is a charmer... So I've done plenty of hand feeding 😁, which so much fun, yes, I've had my fingers "mistaken" for a peanuts 🥜, though I never did get hurt fortunately.. Now those claws are another story altogether, I've had a few squirrels, literally hanging their full body weight on my hand with those, ever so impressive claws !!!! Had some of them, in my lap, and in my 🏠 house, after having another squirrel 🐿️ body slam a rival squirrel 🐿️ into my window 🪟 and then I wait patiently for them to compose themselves, before I move out of the way, so they can go back out the way they came in !!! Thanks 🙏 for all you do for them, and sharing with us....

My experience has been that if you hand feed them, you will get nibbled on. The trick is not to jerk your hand away because that’s when you’ll get cut. Almost every squirrel I’ve encountered knows it was a mistake and immediately back off and doesn’t repeat the mistake. They’re usually so gentle too, I love the Squirrley’s

Yeah I made that mistake the squirrel went for my finger instead of the nuts in my hand. Luckily she didn't bite. Great video as always not only do I enjoy them but my kitties do as well.

That's how I initially hand fed unshelled almonds and peanuts to the squirrels in my backyard for a while because I didn't think of the safer method, ended up feeding around 10 of them that way and they were actually all very delicate with me and never hurt me despite the pressure to get food. I did eventually switch to the safer method for the squirrels who weren't used to getting food from my hand.

They are all so adorable. I’ve tried feeding from my palm before like you do in this video and I got bitten. The squirrel got confused and thought that my finger was the nut. I think they gave themselves a heart attack. Love all your videos. You are so kind. ❤️❤️🐿️🐿️

I forgot to say I hand fed my squirrel friends wearing bright yellow gloves and never understood why they never went for my fingers yet always did if I tried without gloves. Zorro (profile pic) used to hold onto my finger while choosing his treat because he had a damaged left shoulder.

Sounds like a Super-Highway one block away! Maybe it was Rush-Hour. The Squirrels take the Nut like they think they are stealing it. Grab & Run.

I've tried putting three different types of nuts in my palm to see which one our little squirrel mama would pick and she did the exact same thing as Cutie: went for my finger lol They get so used to us feeding them one way, they don't expect it to be different I think! 😂😂

This is a nice calming relaxing channel. I got to shuffle through so much of the news of the world every day that it's so nice to watch some squirrels late at night. the birds are out during the day where I live but I miss the land animals and they don't allow pets here so its just the birds for now. Absolutely right about that! If a wild animal bites you (even domesticated one) deep enough to draw blood rush to the hospital asap bc even if they treat you on time you could lose a finger or even a limb bc of the infection. And you have to know what animal you're coming in contact with before it even gets the chance to bite you so you could inform the doctors and they get to treat you right away. You ma'am be careful too!

When I'm feeding squirrels in Holland Park in London, I do often feed them from my palm, but always turn my hand so they come to the nuts over the side of my hand, and don't see my fingertips before they see the nuts!

I've gotten the talons and teeth both, and the talons are sharper. So, cupping a nutpack for a starving squirrel is always a bad move.

I have one now that takes it out of my hand it touches my finger with it's little hand very softly takes the peanut with its little mouth it is so cool

Aw, the SWAN is adorable... its (his?) coloring reminded me of a fox (didn't get a good look at the abdomen to determine gender).

Walnuts in the shell are the first nut all the squirrels I feed go for. They’ll choose nuts in a shell over unshelled almost every single time. They aren’t happy that I’m trying to make the switch to all shelled nuts to prevent the mess as well as burying them in flower pots.

Squirrels have good vision except it’s 2 colour vision. A bit like a human with red/green colour blindness (that’s probably why I like squirrels so much… I have red/green colour blindness too). So when you put you hand out and the end of your fingers are showing under the nuts, they also look like nuts too… which is why the try to bite your fingers. They aren’t doing it on purpose… it’s them just misinterpreting your finger a food. Look up an app for your phone that simulates Protanopia (that’s blue/ green colour blindness) and hold out your hand with a bunch of nuts. Your fingers will look just like nuts.

I call her/ him that because he cries every time it rains or snows 🤷 i made a little home to feed him in when it rains but he wants to come in .. What do I do? He brought 2 friends around ..One looks like it isn't very old . I'm not too sure if I should let him in but when I open the door he jumps in lol SOS
