Do NOT Recover a Jeep This Way!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We head out to an 4x4 trail known as Twister in Sand Hollow and meet up with a bunch of other Jeeps...just in time to watch an off road recovery! But we're never one to pass up a rock crawling challenge, so when we need a quick recovery as well - sometimes you've gotta do what you gotta do (just maybe not the way we do it)!

I don’t know if Kevin is such an incredibly good driver, or the step child is built so incredibly well, or a combination of both; but it just moves so fluidly and makes things look easy when so many others make them look so hard.

I've been following you guys for a couple months, and this has been one of the best I've seen. I did a little bit of "sand crawling" with my uncles, fifty years ago, and just got a new jeep this year, I live in eastern N.C., and hope to do some crawling in the mountains, west of here, but I'm pretty amazed at what you're doing, and doing very well, among those rocks out there. Fantastic driving! and spotting too. Lots of skill showing.

So I love watching you guys on KZread, and you’ve taught me some things things as well. But I also drive 120,000+ pound log truck and I love every minute of it. I showed my boss which is the owner of a $250,000 truck that I drive he looked at me with such a serious face and said don’t even think about it. That’s what we have tow trucks for. to make a long story short I watch you guys do this not you guys in particularly but other people and it’s just amazing with the skill that you guys have. But that skill I guarantee you does not come cheap. I know it cost you guys thousands if not 50,000 of dollars in damages to get to the experience you have today. But with that rope or toe strap, going through the roll cage and down to another vehicle I don’t see anything wrong with that as long as it is not under heavy load. The cages are designed to take the weight of the entire vehicle is built properly.

So here’s a question for those technical crawlers. Drag and drive and I’m sure others can see how much their shocks are extended or compressed using their tuner programming. Would someone build a program for crawlers so they can see mathematically if they are going over by using the same technology. I know dinner by feel. Just a question.
