It is important to read the post made for information explaining this video. I turned on the tank light and saw the guppy alive. The goldfish then bit the guppy's tail off, and the guppy sank to the floor of the tank. That is why I turned on my camera to video the rest of the meal. The goldfish now has a new home.

A Goldfish will attempt to eat any fish which is small enough to go in its mouth. Guppies are docile fish. They don't annoy Goldfish or challenge them. The Goldfish grows faster and bigger, & is much more able to consume the smaller fish. It is natural. Goldfish regularly widen their mouths. It is easy to see how a guppy will fit inside that mouth. The guppies become feeder fish once the Goldfish is large enough to eat them. Goldfish are much better suited to a tank of other Goldfish (and a few other mates) with similar physical capabilities.

I have 1 male guppie pared in a tank with a telescope and tritale and I had them like that for a year n there all fine obviously the others are bigger but I suppose it's just luck.

I kept pair of guppies with gold fish and other fishes It was good for couple of weeks... Later i found there is no guppy in my tank... still im searching for it.. 😂

i live in Italy, and guppies in Italy are accustomed to live in cold water. my guppies live years in cold water with my two goldfish. they are in a big tank and my two fancy goldfish *AREN'T INTERESSED* to guppies. they spent all the day together with guppies. and they never fought. my goldfish are interessed only to their food. they never had problems

Nice feedback. The other negative comments gave me doubts, but your help changed that narrative. The video on the above show a goldfish ate a dead guppy. This mean it could died from natural causes.

Mine was different. When i put both gold fish and guppy on the same tank, guppy fish was continuously attacked the gold fish. Guppy bite the tail of gold fish. Then i separate them. After that one of my friend also said that the same experience was happened to him also.

It seem the golf fish just ate up a dead guppy on the bottom of the tank.

Some time ago I had this single fish that is about to die. All of my fishes including my two goldfish are trying to remove it. Other fish tries to whip it, others try to nip or tear it apart. My two goldfish however tried to eat it. I had to remove my dying fish unfortunately a few hours it was already dead. Can't believe my firshes would gang up on the weak. But I thought it was a normal behaviour so others cannot be infected.

A. Most of them wouldn’t survive in the wild, this would happen anyway B. If it didn’t happen, you would be completely overrun with fry. I know it’s kind of sad but it’s not that bad.

I too have 4 goldies with some guppies... they have been living together for 1 1/2 year... they are buddy buddy~ it seems like the guppies used to bully the goldies more than the other way around before... now they just swimming happily together... no issues

@@enriquepallares2006 tetras are schooling and tiny fish to begin with. They are even smaller than guppies so it really depends on your goldies personality. If the goldies are A WHOLE LOT bigger than the other fish it is best not to keep them together. However if your goldies don't see their other species tank mates as food then go ahead and keep them. Each and every goldfish has different personality.

Goldfish are cold water fish, guppies and tetras and warm water, I would say that you should only put goldfish in with other goldfish around the same size because like all fish, they will eat anything they can fit in their mouth. Furthermore, feeding your fish regularly can help avoid any problems with them eating each other.

Guppies can tolerate cold water too just not freezing

It looks like that guppy has been dead and already was decomposing. The Goldfish was just doing his job.

Well, basically anything alive that fill fit into a Goldfish's mouth is dinner, so yes.

ur guppy fish may be suffering from fungus or fin rot and if any fish is not well other fishes will surely attack it

I lost my 2 zebrafish today because of this reason

My goldfish also had snack with my zebra. Lesson learned. 😨😨

I keep 5 fancy goldfish with 1 large female guppy in a very heavily planted ecosystem pond, I suspect she (the guppy) got added accidentally with the floating plants I bought. She has been doing extremely well in there for the past 2 years and I've seen them shoal together countless times with each other. I guess every situation is different.

Na the problem isn’t in day time , the thing is , when guppies sleep , they lay around objects , and most likely the goldfish goes biting everything in the way , I’m speaking from personal experience, I sadly lost two guppies to my goldfish, never again tho , they’re on a different tank now

A goldfish is a cold water fish. Guppy’s are tropical fish. That’s just common sense to not keep the together and the cold fish would Probably eat them.

Goldfish are cold water and guppies are warm water so who in the right mind would keep them together.

I keep them together for 1 1/2 year~ and no issues~ 4 orandas with some guppies... the guppies even gave birth to some fries multiple times already in. That. Same. Tank~ I even have to help transferring some of the fries since they are over populating the tank... Goldfish aren't really cold water fish... look how beautiful Thailand, Vietnamese, and other Asian goldfish are... they are bred in such a hot temperature outdoor and indoor... it really depends on how one goldfish originally bred... I keep my fish without heater... let the nature take its course... all i do is provide them as much attention as they need and maintain water quality...

That goldfish is bigger than the guppies of course it’s going to attack. I keep my goldfish with some guppies and they are a similar size and they actually school together, your issue is with size and temperament.

DogePhazed - The goldfish was gifted to a store. The tank is now calm with unstressed guppies & a few passive tank mates. Swordfish, Panda Cory, Nerite Snails, & Mystery Snail.

The fish was blatantly dead before hand you could see that..

If you read the intro, I saw the goldfish bite the guppy in half, then grabbed my camera. Goldfish eat almost anything that fits in their mouths. However, they need different environments, so it is still best to keep them separate even if not concerned about death.

Snakehead fish aren't a great choice to place with peaceful pond fish.

i mix guppy and goldfish and a few hours later i found my guppy dead

O__o I used to have a goldfish and a lot of guppies :D The idea was for the goldfish to keep the balance in the aquarium and the guppies not to repopulate like humanity. Sadly the damn goldfish let them make more and more babies until some of them got sick and started dying cause i didn't found a buyer for the 50 extra guppies i had.

Goldfish need cool water. Guppies need a heater. They need different water parameters and different food. The comet will eat the guppy. It's not a good idea to combine the two kinds of fish.

Gold fish are first and foremost herbivores.

It is ok to mix but u shouldnt mix goldfish,Guppy and koi becausse the koi will kill them just like what they did to my guppies and goldfish

I did that already I honestly did not even know till I saw what the female was like

Goldfish do really well in ponds in Britain! They have a massive temp range! And will grow big and live for 30 odd years+! But at 23- 26c they.will love it!! Down side is, at that temp, their motablism is very fast and they live about 5 years so I'm told!? But the constant mid to high 20s will cause them no pain or harm!

Rule number one ☝️ small fish that don’t grow keep them with only small fish. Big fish that do grow keep them with big fish depending on the aggressive nature. I have a 75 gallon tank with 8 koi fish still fairly small and two ryukin goldfish and one oranda goldfish and one pleaco and two blue gouramis and two angel fish. They all get along.
