This is good for regular use and not for Digital Artists, because it does not have the pressure sensitivity and only has the tilted option, other than that, its a good note taking tool.

Indeed my friend. Thanks for tuning in 😊🍻. If you’re a digital artist there really is no other alternative to the original Apple Pencil 2 because it alone has pressure sensitivity for the iPad. Therefore I highly recommend this tool for most other applications because you literally will not be able to tell the difference unless you go looking for it. I sure don’t 🤷🏾‍♂️. It has all the other features except for pressure sensitivity and tap to switch to the eraser/ pen tips which the average user really and truly most likely don’t use. Those features are for the “elite” digital artist 😅.

Thanks for tuning in! 😊🍻. I’ll admit that I totally forgot about that feature due to never really using it 😅. So I literally just tested it upon reading your comment. So I can confirm that no it does not work. I think it has to do with the fact that this alternative relies on the Bluetooth connection to communicate and interact with the iPad while the original Apple Pencil 2 does not (it works whether or not Bluetooth is enabled). Therefore I think this may be another Apple Pencil exclusive. If it’s important to you where you see yourself using that feature often, then it may be best that you invest in the original Apple Pencil 2. Great find though my friend! 😊. @@moisestatis5418 Indeed my friend. It’s just not worth it at all. Like I said in my video, my other half is enjoying the cheaper version. I actually loaned her my original Apple Pencil 2 till the alternative arrived and once she started using the alternative version, she cannot tell the difference to this day. And her uses range from the average note taking and content consumption, to content creation and manipulation and business applications. She loves it and uses it all day every day… never once did she ever ask me back for my original Apple Pencil 2.

I wanted to ask if it works with Pen Hovar on the latest M2 Ipad, but then remember that the Latest Procreate update removed access to all 3rd party pens accept for "Logitech pen". So if you update procreate to 5.3 upwards, your pen might not work anymore (in procreate)

Thanks for tuning in! 😊🍻. But to be perfectly honest my friend if you’re an artist who uses Procreate I recommend getting the original Apple Pencil 2 (I have that linked as well). The Air Hover and Pressure Sensitivity features I imagine will be needed by artists and are only available on the original Apple Pencil 2… not even the Logitech Crayon has those features and is less convenient than these cheaper alternatives while being much more expensive. From further testing these cheaper alternatives are perfect for everyone else who don’t use their iPads to draw or do artwork because they most likely won’t use or notice those 2 missing features.

I got the Targus an it charges usb c but magnetic and works just as good w/o blue tooth

Unfortunately yes it is proprietary tech that Apple has locked down so none of the third party Apple pencils will have it. If it’s something you definitely need (if you’re an artist for example), then unfortunately the only option is the official Apple Pencil. Most people don’t use or need that feature though, so the more expensive Apple Pencil is just not worth it for a lot of people.

Do the iPenbox or the alternative you linked have palm rejection in all apps, or just apps like procreate?

Thanks for tuning in! 😊🍻. Yes it sure does. Everything works exactly like the original Apple Pencil 2 except for the tap to switch to eraser function. I also just learned that it actually doesn’t have pressure sensitivity. So it’s missing those 2 functions. Everything else including palm rejection works just as the original though.

Palm rejection has nothing to do with the pen, it’s the tablet that has the feature.

Well you see both the iPad and Surface Pro use different technologies for their native stylus pens. So there is no real stylus that will truly give you the best of both worlds where you will have all functionalities. The best alternative and the closest solution are actually active stylus pens such as these 2: amzn.to/475Oc5n amzn.to/3QsnKx5 Really hope that helped 😊.

Unfortunately no it doesn’t. From my understanding no third party Apple Pencil is able to do pressure sensitivity.

@@KamaniBrown No it doesn't, actually from what I see in the video it has no pressure sensitivity only tilt sensitivity. And it is pretty clear why. Apple has the necessary technology classified so it is not possible to make a 3rd party apple pencil woth pressure sensitivity

I just double checked I can confirm that apparently it does not have pressure sensitivity. It’s missing that feature and the tap to switch pen tips/eraser. It has all other functions though from using it. So if those 2 features are important to you then it may be best to spend the extra funds and get the genuine Apple Pencil 2. I made a mistake for not noticing it in testing or my use case, I deleted my earlier comment as well to ensure there’s no mixup. So apologies my friend and thanks again for tuning in 😊🍻.

It has held up pretty good really. No complaints at all where battery life is concerned… especially since it always charges automatically via magnetic induction charging once you put it back on the side of the iPad. I don’t know what stylus you clicked on my friend but the 1 used in the video only costs US$28 on Amazon (with an option to save even more with a coupon). I also said in the comments several times that I made an error in the video and the stylus does not have pressure sensitivity.

Unfortunately after extensive research after making this video I found out that only the original Apple Pencil 2 delivers accurate pressure sensitivity. So if that feature is important to you, then I will only recommend the OEM Apple Pencil 2.

I believe it won’t work if you have the apple pencil connect to the ipad and it only have tilt function no pressure sensitive. Other than those small things its the same

Unfortunately my friend the iPad 10th generation does not have the magnetic strip to attach this stylus or the original Apple Pencil 2. It also only supports the Apple Pencil 1st generation.

Is ipenbox compatible with the original apple pencil nib? I want to have alternative pencil that is compatible with the metal nib. Thank you

From my observation it seems that the nibs are indeed interchangeable with the original Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil 2.

The worst thing happened to me 😢my Apple Pencil 2nd gen broke I don’t mean it died or the tips are old and I need to replace the tips no it is fully broken the tip part fell of when it fell and 25,000 pkr is down the drain and since I’m still young 10 years old and I bought the Apple Pencil with my own money I cried so much and I also share the Apple Pencil and my iPad with my sister I spent all my money on that thing and now because of inflation the Apple Pencil price has gone up to 30,000 which is way more then I have 😢😢😢I have such bad luck

Oh man that sounds terrible! 😞. Well unless you need pressure sensitivity, tap to switch pen tips, or writing when the screen is off, then I highly recommend you get 1 of the cheaper ones I recommended in this video. I also linked it in the description and my pinned message. It has all the other features of the Apple Pencil 2 for a fraction of the cost. With those savings you could even consider getting 2 (1 for your sibling as well) and still save a lot. I really do wish you all the best though my friend.

Plus these beauties weren’t available at the time… at least I couldn’t find a suitable replacement/alternative that offered all the Apple Pencil 2 had to offer with virtually no compromise for such a low price.

@@cantisanifotografo no it isn't must lol. I know great artist who draws just with her finger and not complaining and you can change with fingers opacity. Yeah if you get money from drawing it's wroth to invest more to speed up your work but for someone starting it isn't necessary at all.

This pen is obviously not pressure sensitive. You didn't describe it correctly for what an artist really wants.

I don’t know which item you speak of. The alternative I’m recommending only costs $30 or less. You may be speaking of the original Apple Pencil 2 which costs within that range (about $116). The purpose of this video is to show a much cheaper and more suitable alternative to the Apple Pencil 2 for most folks.

Thanks for tuning in. I still stand by my review in the sense that it has all the features that 99% of people care about for a fraction of the cost. It is only missing 3 things (2 I failed to mention in the video by my mistake based on my use case and that of most people): tap to switch, pressure sensitivity, and quick notes (write a note when the screen is off). Those are special use case functions who only people like digital artists will miss. I made this clear in the comments after the video. A lot of people, including myself, people in my household and others who I recommended this product to enjoy it just fine for what it is, and no we are not digital artists.

If you are worried about a few bucks difference for an Apple Pencil, you probably really can't afford the iPad and should have spent the money on other more important priorities.

Well I straight up wouldn’t recommend anything other than the OEM Apple pencil 2 for actual digital artists. They require the features like pressure sensitivity and even the new hover feature which you can only get from the OEM. No alternative stylus from any 3rd party company offers those features…. Not even known brands like Logitech. This video is more for everyone else, the everyday user, students and business people who only need the stylus to navigate/ interact with the iPad and take notes without breaking the bank. They most likely won’t use or miss those couple features because they most likely don’t use them.
