Great video bud! Yeah check in can be very frustrating in any resort...some have it down better than others. Can't wait to see more on this resort and your other stays in Punta Cana.

Watch out when you check out; they added 200 to my bill. Thank god I caught it before going back to the States. The reception guy tried to say it was DOM Pasos. I said No, I got an alert from my back, and it showed me in US dollars. I told him that he had charged me 200 more. He rolled his eyes and refunded the money. He tried to scam me. This place put such a bad taste in my mouth. The only thing I liked about this hotel was the beach and pool. The food was the absolute worse.

You look fantastic! I spend 5 days in Vegas eating relatively healthy and max out 3 drinks a day and come back looking like someone took an air pump and puffed up my entire body 😂 Whatever you’re doing is clearly working. Keep it up James

Stayed here exactly one year ago. We loved this property! The only complaint that I have are the mosquitos! As soon as the door to the balcony was opened 10-15 of them would fly in. We had to get the room fumigated 3 times while there for a week. One time we were on the balcony and they locked us out of our room, luckily i was able to jump down and walk around lol. Other than that we really enjoyed the food the room the pool and the beach. They were all amazing!

This will be our first trip to DR so your reviews were very helpful in selecting resorts. We are splitting our week at Excellence and Margaritaville. They say courses at La Cana and Corales are bucketlist. Hubs and I looking forward to playing. Wanted to squeeze in a day at Riu to turnup for my bday Wednesday but they have 3day minimum...Can't wait to see what resort you visit next!

Thank you for doing this review right now. I’m a solo traveler also I’m planning my 50th birthday for November but I’m a golfer and going down for that more then the beach. I’m torn between that hotel and the adults only beach Bavaro location. I’ve never stayed at either and love the excellence but it’s far away from the golf courses and I waste a few hours in travel each time from the excellence. Would love to hear which you would recommend especially the food selections and quality. Thanks for doing these videos.

Agree check in needs to revamp somehow. Never waited this long in Punta Cana. Love the resort otherwise. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time there.

same experience than you at the lobby, it was FATAL !! we came from Miches so the contrast at the hotel was massive...its like coming from the franch riviera into the Bronx....:)) the tennis courts are great!! I had the same room than the picture, so it was nice..

I’ve been to this hotel before a few years ago and we upgraded to the junior suite as well. It is most definitely worth the money. I also think they might have changed the color of the hotel because for some reason I remember the main color being orange not lime green lol. But once again, another great video. Looking forward to the rest of your reviews.

I only go in the off-season because i hate the heat and could care less about pools, clubs and dont want to deal with crowds. Could you do a series on the best rooms you could get in the off season for say 150 a night or less. Over the years ive seen KZreadrs and FB posts of ppl sayin they get crazy multi bedroom suites for like 100 or less a night because in Nov/Dec before or after the holidays room rates plummet. 2 br queen suite at Bellagio for $70 a night? That seems too good to be true

I was extended access (expedia status) to the premium checkin counter on the other side and it was just as bad, which was SHOCKING. Those premium counters are never busy usually.

If so how is it I'm going there in a couple of weeks

Is it worth it to book premium level at Barceló bavaro palace Punta Cana ? There are 2 types of junior suite the junior suite and junior suite premium level

I stayed at the Barcelo in Puerto Vallarta. The room was nice. We stayed in a premium suite. But the food and service was AWFUL. I’ll never stay at a Barcelo again.

I've been to Barcelo in Mayan Riveria 5 times , mostly at Barcelo Maya Palace and check in is ALWAYS a shit show. Every single time.😢

Is it skinny or now 11% bf shred city? Or was that extra 15-20 pounds simply water weight that stubbornly persisted due to my crazy lifestyle, which includes inhumane time at altitude, wildly inconsistent sleep cycles, and the challenge of adhering to a diet while traveling almost entirely to places where the word diet doesn't exist. Really, truly, I appreciate your concern - many many people have commented on this topic, and I'm not angry about it at all, I'm actually very humbled and appreciative of the care behind the comments. All answers regarding this topic will be revealed shortly :-)

I will never go to Barcelo again

Question: It seems like the shower does not have door. So when someone takes a shower, one can see everything through the mirror? Also, you may have come at a busy time of day and may not have been enough people to check all those people in line. If it's not a 2 minute check in, doesn't mean check in sucks. I was in a well known hotel in NYC and there was noone in front of me and it took 20 minutes or so for check in. It's ok. Coming to such a resort, you shouldn't be in a hurry nor impatient anyway.

What would I know, it's only my 90th hotel in two years and 700th something in my life. Why would you make excuses for an unstaffed hotel not able to predict and control the customer experience. A horrible check in is a horrible check in. Last time I checked, I'm the one paying the money.

@@Coolist You must be very proud. LOL. However, a friend of mine goes there every 3 or so months because her son lives in Dominican and her check in is just fine. So, sometimes it is JUST bad time of day. Btw, number of hotels you've been in doesn't make you an expert of anything.
