There are also many privately owned boutique hotels that do not have a relationship with the government that are available for US bookings. They offer brilliant accommodations, food, and service.

Super helpful video! I didn’t know if Americans could use Airbnb for Cuban travel (Airbnb website says they have a special license to book in cuba but only mentions ‘non-US persons’)

Just been back from Cuba. Booked via AirBnB. extended a day each in Havana and Trinidad and paid directly to hosts. That helps them.

I saw your video about the airports in Cuba. How many hours in advance do you have to be in the airport before your departing flight? Regarding the power outages, how bad is it in the air b and b’s? Also… you mentioned we would not have cell phone reception there, so can we buy a disposable phone to have with internet to keep in touch with family and friends while there? Is that an option? Is it better to change the dollars into Euros or CAD before you leave the US? Thank you for your videos. Super informative and honest.

I recommend you be at the airport hours minimum 3 hours before your flight. I didn't have any power outages at any point. You'll have cell phone reception in Cuba, but the price is RIDICULOUS, so instead you can buy a disposable phone or get a SIM card for your trip. I traveled with US dollars and I exchanged it for CUP when I got to Cuba.

@@DestiniLuv101 In Havana at Cubacel store on the corner of Obispo street and Hawana st. You need to pay in CUPs and have PP. for 1050 CUPs you get a SIM with 8GB data good for 30 days

Soooo about how much did this casa particular cost you per night? I know this post is 1yr or so old , so its obvously okay and understandable you dont remember.
