Thank you Israel! I’m not able to get out of the house, so I’ve been watching food and travel videos for the past few years. In my opinion yours are the best of the best. Absolutely stunning. And nobody photographs food the way you do. I feel so much better when I watch your videos. I’d like you to make a video about how you create these. I mean, who is your photographer, Francis Ford Coppola? Seriously, fantastic job. Best wishes always, Elaine. ❤

" The Bay of Pigs Tour " would be my recommendation from Havana, you start early with coach & boat ride ... " Sugar Plantation tour " has steam train ride, lunch, live Cuban music.

There are definitely two sides to Cuba....the side for tourists who visit for a few days, and the side for Cubans who live there and have to fight every day to survive due to the hell created by the communist regime since 1959. These lovely restaurants, bars and hotels shown in these videos are strictly for tourists because Cubans cannot AFFORD to go to these places, since their income is so meager. Example: a medical doctor makes the equivalent of only U.S. $50/month...yes, that's right, $50! This is why all kinds of professionals have to find side jobs to make extra income as taxi drivers, restaurant work, making deliveries, etc. Non-professionals make even less money, so it's not hard to imagine the day-to-day struggle Cubans face, all thanks to communism! This is why the vast majority of Cubans cannot go to all these tourist places; only the privileged ones who belong to the communist party elite have the means and resources to go there.

Did you pay in dollar or in CUP there?, as the ticket has reference price in dollar and Euro too, i noticed they put it like equal value but there are not same exchange rate, and when exactly this was filmed to study the real exchange currency at that moment to see how big was the extra charge. According to ticket they were exchanging currency at 155-160 cup per dollar, but what was the real exchange on the street according to the date it was filmed it my curiosity.

@@agnieszkapirek2258 yeah I thought it was confusing that he said that the hundred Dollar place was too expensive but the other place was over 7K cup . There must be something I’m missing. i’ve been to way nicer places than that in Mexico and it’s not even close to being that expensive. There’s gotta be something I’m missing because who would go to a country full of extremely impoverished people and go have a $200+ meal for two. seems completely out of touch from the reality right outside the door

  • @IsraelPlata

Yes you can pay with dollars in most places. Cubans love dollars so even street vendors and taxis will ask for dollars. You can pay with CUP as well. Up to you but if you do pay with dollars you should have the exact amount cause not everyone will have change to give you back 😉

@@thaPUNISCHA I agree with you. What are the people paying with in Cuba. Probably got the official exchange rate instead of the street's rate. Makes a lot of difference when paying for things in Cuba. Folks need to do their homework before heading out, if not, they will paying Mafia's prices for food there. I was in Havana last year and I lived on less than $50 per day.

Costa Vino was complete trash, I just returned from Cuba yesterday. The seafood was not fresh and there was a buffalo wings red hot like sauce covering the octopus dish (probably to cover up the subpar quality). The octopus was definitely not fresh and incorrectly thawed. The lobster was chewy and not fresh. The prices are very expensive as well, with dishes ranging from 20-35 USD for the chef recommendations. For two people (we didn't even order any alcohol) the price came out to 115 USD. You can get much better quality and value in the states, there's absolutely no reason to spend that kind of money on old frozen seafood. For the record, we did stop by a place on the way back from Varadero and they had very fresh seafood and other dishes (even though the prices were similar).
