Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today is my take on the classic '5 Things I HATE About My Car'.
This is my 2016 Nissan 370Z Nismo Edition and honestly it is nearly a perfect car for me. I seriously love so much of it! But no car is perfect.....
Everything I hate about my Nissan 370Z!
Check out the video as I go over the thing/things I actually hate about it, something Nissan could have done better, and then finally a few reasons some of you might not like owning this car!

  • @notamuzed4753

    @notamuzed4753

    Yes but it is possible to go bad over time since they have been revised multiple times but have never successfully fixed the issue. One remedy is to twist the springs on the top of the hatch (in the video) a quarter of a turn then take the rubber cover off of it and put a coin in the bottom of each one once completed you put the rubber cover back onto the spring and reinstall by also twisting a quarter of a turn in the opposite direction.

    In order to fix the trunk not opening problem, take out the two springs you mentioned on the video and stick inside one or two 5 cents in each to adjust the opening action depending on how much the Spoiler you have weights. It's a common mod in these cars ever since the 350z.

    There's a penny trick you can do for the hatch not opening on the first attempt. There are directions on the 350z forums as well, but you basically take apart that spring bucket you have your hand on at 3:35, put a penny or two in, put it together, and reinstall.

    1 Year late to the party, but awesome vid and still holds up to the current market for Z’s. I bought a 2010 Touring back in 2015, and been loving the car since. My only gripe with the 09-11 is the steering lock malfunction, which renders your car from starting. I have the trunk issue as well, but that’s a minor set back. Other than that, the 370Z was built solid and upgrading parts for it is easy AF. Great car, great vid! PS: I know you pull a GTR now! You and your bro, Keep up the good work! 👍

    Thanks for the video. Been lookin at a 13 or 14 Nismo in pearl white like yours. I prefer the previous look although your 16 is clean! The trunk latch issue should be covered under the manufacturer warranty so I'd take it in asap. Other than a shallow trunk, there's not much I dislike about the Z370. I've been enjoying my Genny Coupe for the past few years, but I look forward to the day I can park my Nismo Z next to it. 😉

    For the trunk.. I store my car in the winter and noticed the same thing started happening. Turns out when the battery level was low/lower, there wasn't enough power to pop the trunk properly. After I trickle charged my battery back to full, the problem went away. Might be same kinda thing happening to you, which also would explain why it tends to happen more when it's cold.

  • @BrosFOURRSpeed

    @BrosFOURRSpeed

    Interesting. It seems like if the trunk has not been open for 1 hour, it will always do it. I feel like the rubber seal around the trunk lid is 'sticking' to the paint or something.

  • @sw651

    Try spraying the rubber seal with silicon spray, I do this every fall on my truck to keep the doors from freezing shut. It will prove or disprove your sticking theory.

    The same issue is applying to 350z. I'm not sure if the design is the same, but try this: Unplug those rubber seals, there should be a spring inside. Try to put washer under it so it will squeeze the spring harder after closing the trunk. When opened, it should push the whole thing with more power solving the problem.

    The first issue is a safety feature that keeps your trunk lid from popping open while driving, in the event that you accidentally open it while moving. My 2013 FoST does something similar, and all I have to do is hit the button, push down, and then open it.

    As a Nismo 350Z owner there is what's called the 4 penny trick for that trunk problem lol. you can twist those "rubber things with springs in them" to where they can come off, take the spring out of the rubber part and drop 2 pennies in each one which will put more tension on the spring so that whenever you pop the trunk you won't have to hit the button twice. If the problem continues drop an extra penny in each of them and you should be golden as I've had to actually use 6 pennies total but all my other Z friends have only needed to use 4 total.

    I had a 370Z and the thing that annoyed me the most is how the cargo netting was attached. I had two of the anchors pull out with no way to get them back in. The hatch hydraulic system would also weaken after a few years if you had a spoiler on it, which was the most annoying since I had to carry a plant stake to prop it up.

It's a point and shoot car but i admit the ride is shit lol

    Oh I love the seats! One of the best factory seats I've every been in. But some people might not like them. Like I mentioned in the video. The precious owner loved the car, but after a few months realized they were too aggressive for him. He was a 60 year old retired guy. So he went back to his Mercedes.

    The trunk lid is actually an easy fix and it will only cost a few cents. I had that issue on my Z. There's a pair of springs the help pop the trunk up, but there's not enough to actually get it to pop. Search for 370z penny trick or penny mod. I think there was even a TSB to replace the springs with longer one's.

    The trunk issue is super common. I worked for Nissan for quite some time, the latch gets a little sticky, just go see the dealer! They'll take care of it.

    Some z's have weights in the hatch to make it easier to drop close. you can remove it and fix the hatch not opening.

    The trunk issue is an easy fix, I had the same problem on my 350z and fixed it this way. Twist the spring 90 degrees to remove it, remove the rubber piece from the base, remove the spring, stick a few coins or washers in the bottom of the rubber sleeve, put the spring back in, fix the rubber sleeve back over the base, and put back on the trunk. Just repeat for the other side 👍

    Coming from a guy with an F body who's trunk failed to release without pulling up on it immediately the solution check the hatch popping mechanism the spring on mine and all f body's is not powerful when it's colder out to pop it first time. The solution is just buying a spring to piggyback on top of the spring in there already if that's how your hatch releases works.

    Cool video! I'm curious if the balance for a daily is a standard Z with some upgraded swaybars + SPL endlinks. This way you still have the less punishing spring rate, but some additional lean in the turns removed. I have the same annoyance with the stupid trunk, batting about 25% on full openings. Someone should have told the old man to try some KW V3's could dial out some of the harshness, but then we wouldn't have all these videos.

    In my video where I compared this one to my previous Z, I mentioned stuff like that. Coilovers and extra chassis bracing would do a lot for the standard Z. Weirdly tho, I find the Nismo so much more comfortable that the standard Z. I just think I fit in the seats way better.

    I'm in love with my Fast Intentions setup with the CF mufflers, it's just CLASSY/stealth, would fit the Nismo perfectly. I went with the 18" resonators, and after a month, it's really quieted down a lot (I prob got used to it a bit too), so go for the non resonated option if you plan on leaving the stock cats in place. I plan to ditch the stock cats and go for the high flow cats to gain some higher rpm sound without the annoying rasp, but, financially, that's going to cost more than if I'd opted to go with no resonators at all. Not remorseful, just didn't want to have that "punk kid" loud exhaust at all rpms/throttle positions. It's a highly debatable topic and youtube videos shot with iphone mics don't work for anyone, so maybe attend a Z meet to really decide. Hell you could make a video right there, if you could set mic levels to manual (as most dslrs will normalize if you don't! you should be using a panasonic gh series that does 4k!! you're in NISMO territory now!!!), rent a rode shotgun mic with the wind cover ($300 to purchase), and you have yourself a great Z genuine exhaust video, just start with the loudest exhaust so you're not clipping audio sound inputs and BAM, true back to back scientific comparison VQ exhaust video.
