How much has this changed with the new law that passed in Virginia in July 2021? I'm a non-Virginia lawyer whose wife passed away in March, haven't blocked visitation by in-laws who live in SC to see my young son, but I have started supervising it because of the stuff my MIL has done in the past (to my wife, to my son, and to me also).

Thats fair .. just cause your child is angry with you they can deny your right to know your grandchildren...

Look I'm sorry for your situation, but sometimes you have situations like mine where my father shouldn't in no way see my child

🙄 why did you not address a more realistic reason for filing grandparents rights like one parent being deceased and the living parent being an asshole? It’s common sense that a court is going to say no if BOTH biological parents object.

Or where one very controlling mother in-law attempted to prematurely disconnect her daughters oxygen and overdose her on morphine before she died, and now wants unsupervised visitation with her young grandchild.
