there's nothing wrong with saving money... He's treating them to food all the time. The name caught on during the time they went to the shaolin temple to practice and eat there, it's the way he eats is deemed as a beggar and he does it because he's competitive and treats lunch and dinner as eating competitions, its also his way of pressuring his underlings to eat more which the girl gladly accepts but the boys don't. Most of the time he doesn't act like this when they're on limited food but during buffets he goes all out. At the shaolin temple the meals are vegan/vegetarian and buffet style. Its Korean comedy and he doesn't mind.

Maria Beck I do agree that he stuff his face like a beggar but I feel like instead of using this derogatory term, they could’ve said something more respectful like starving. Boss Yang eats like as if he has been starving a year. Something more cheerful rather than using the term beggar, in my opinion. Again, I do understand their humor and all, however, I think we can all agree that if someone said u eat like a beggar regardless if u do or not, it will definitely offend u lol 🤣

Buffet restaurants still earns heaps of money. Out of 100 customers, there are probably 10-15 that can really eat. That's why until today, no matter what buffet restaurants will always be alive and running their business. Not everyone can eat how she or Boss Yang eat. If you see that table of 8, only 2 of them ate a lot more than the rest. Most of the meats that are serve on buffet line are usually frozen which can be kept a long time. They will replenish every few days for fresh items such vegetables and perishable items and places like Seoul is never short of fresh produce. Small buffet places such will get a big boost each time TV entertainment feature them. Although their restaurant name is being blurred out but most locals will know where this place is.

I really don't understand what's the issue with going to all-you-can-eat restaurants tbh? Why should I go to a expensive luxurious restaurant and spend more and not be full when I can go to a buffet and eat as much as I want. Especially considering how much they eat, I don't think he's being a "beggar" for bringing them to an all-you-can-eat.

chan sereyvoittana I 100% agree with u. It’s like these MCs are so focus on pointing out the negativity/trying to make them feel bad instead of positive vibes. Isn’t there a MC that would say something more cheerful like woah, they can eat so much! I wish I could eat half as much! I think this show would be great with better MCs, in my opinion. Need Yu Jaeseok or HoDong to host a show similar to this. They are more thoughtful, engaging and sincere, in my opinion. I do enjoy these MCs too but I feel they are a bit too repetitive and boring with same comments. Hopefully some change in the future with their character.

If you read the Korean properly, that IS what they're doing: calling him a beggar for treating his employees to all-you-can-eat. Go to any of the actual Korean posts of this episode and read the Korean comments to them. They're all shitting on the writers and PDs for allowing this type of subtitling to happen. They're all pissed off that they're basically calling people who like to eat at all-you-can-eat restaurants beggars.

They are athletes, they have to load up on way more than a normal person calories and protein daily intake so all you can eat places make sense unless they have sponsors to cover food costs.

I admit Gimpo for me is the type that i'd really want to go even for once but Boss yang's is on a different level. it does not wants me to ge there just for once but it wants me to be part of their family and stay at his gym. I don't want to differentiate but i really like boss yang's place.

Boss Yang's segment is always entertaining. It's like a mukbang show.

They call him a beggar because of how he looks when he eats. Not because he is a beggar... Neither is it degrading, because that is how Yang portray his persona on screen. Call it self deprecating humor / comedy if you will but this is how Yang builds and leaves an impression to the viewers. This is especially evident even when he was running gigs with Sung Hoon. So "Beggar Yang" is basically an endearing term. There is nothing worst than being an actor / entertainer but people can't remember a single defining trait / impression about you. Hence this is hugely important. Like when people reference Taeyeon, they will go "Oh she can sing well !" Or RDJ is iron man etc

Honestly they keep comparing how the two teams eat based on price but they’re really not comparing them fairly. Boss yang, even with ayce restaurants, spends a lot of money on just their food. I mean look at how little the other team ate compared to his team. Of course they can go to regular restaurants. They eat normal amounts. Honestly if you look at some of the AYCE restaurant prices, it’s comparable to taking his team out to a normal restaurant and ordering normal amounts. But because they just eat so freaking much it makes sense to take them out to AYCE where they can eat a bunch without worrying about the costs because if they really ate as much as they wanted at a normal restaurant they’d all end up feeling bad because the bill would be crazy.

Employees choosing to stay because they’ve grown attached to you says a lot about you as a boss.

*In hindsight, the high end gym probably lost tons more money in this pandemic than Boss Yang’s*

The woman in red has to be one of the most amazing women ive ever seen in my entire life.

This show introduced me to Dongeun and “The Boss” and since then, both have been watched religiously. Their food looks so delicious and she seems like an amazing work out coach/palates coach (?) Not sure if they work together any more, or if they did it for only the show but they make a good team. They both completely awaken the hidden dormant motivational part of a person and gets them up n ready to do better. She’s got such a unique personality. She’s calm, witty, smart and confrontational at times and he’s charming and cheap yet strong. Such a fascinating mix of people.

Brilliant episode! Showed just how big the difference is between two types of people. I personally prefer an all-you-can-eat place tbh. It brings out a friendly vibe where you personally dont have to worry about price and looks. I believe eating is a good way to bring people together but I stress out when I have to worry more about my surroundings than just enjoy myself to my full extent. Im not much of big eater but I think theres a lot more ups in an all-you-can-eat buffet then again some people are also more comfortable in a formal set up. In the end I think both options are good. -v- man I wanna go to a chinese buffet now...I love their food -v-
