Do 4 inches make a difference?; s4/e19
In my way to the city Breda, I had some things to do so I moored in Waddinxveen (s4/e18) and when I was ready I left to stay the night at a mooring facility in Gouda. Close to Gouda I dared myself with that one question: will I be able to pass with the mast up?

The 4 camera's I use to produce my outdoor footage, are so called PTZ - P(an) T(ilt) Z(oom). Zoom, I only use on the rear camera, when I am underway. As you have seen I use the pan and tilt a lot. And in the dark they produce a great (short view) infrared image. I even can navigate in a marina at night on my cams.
Since they all are so called "IP camera's", each have an unique (hardwired) IP address (no DNS) in my network.

Oops, Size Does Matter; s4/e19
This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises on motorvessel Lady Liselot through The Netherlands and a little further". That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format. So, I aim to give you a feel for what life's like aboard for me and hope you enjoy it, perhaps relate to it or maybe even learn something. But it's simply my story and the way I do things. Waarom ik alles in het Engels doe?
Omdat ik video's kijk van Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers én heel veel Engelstaligen die allemaal Engels lullen en ook bootjesmensen / liveaboards zijn. Want alleen dan kan je je ervaring wereldwijd delen. En wat blijkt? Mijn video's worden in 127 landen bekeken (zie S03/E01 voor de lijst). Veel van mijn kijkers en abonnees zijn Engelstaligen die mijn video's helemaal top vinden, omdat ze óf familie hebben uit Nederland, of hier jaren geleden zijn geboren en door omstandigheden nu elders op de wereld wonen. En, dat ik dan Engels spreek met een accentje (net als de Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers overigens) dan interesseert hen dat helemaal niets.
Weet je dat Nederlandse ondertiteling aan kan zetten? Doorgaans zo'n 4 uur nadat de video is gepubliceerd. Klik op de video, en kies uit de iconen die rechtsonder verschijnen dan voor [ondertiteling] en kies daar voor Nederlands. Dan wordt zelfs mijn steenkolen Engels (knap he van die jongens en meisjes KZread) vertaald naar Nederlandsch.

You need a product called "wet and forget" for anywhere that has gone green. Just spray it on, leave, and in a couple of days any green will have disappeared and it will stay that way for a very long time. Only available on line .

I cleaned the deck with 1 cup of sodium carbonate in a 2 gallon bucket with hotwater and rinsed it. Wow, what an effect. Tried several stuff from cheap to very expensive, and this "grandmothers recipe" is the best I have seen in 4 years. No idea what the long term effect will be. Thanx for the wet and forget tip.

Lock is the whole thing. Gates and chambers are components of the lock. Many English speakers are not precise and can use these terms interchangeably. Thanks Henk, it might be interesting to hear your journey of boating, when and how you got started. Do you live full time on the boat? .

Je moet geen ankerlichten aanzetten bij/tijdens gemeerd liggen. Op onverlichte schepen dien je een wit licht rond schijnend aan de uitstekende zijkant te presenteren en dus aan te hebben.

Correct, ik heb een lang snoer aan dat licht en heb 'm aan de railing van de fly gehangen.
Doet de marifoon communicatie, als de mast met marifoon antennes naar beneden op het dek ligt, het nog wel goed?

Vaak wel. Ik meld me doorgaans eerst via de VHF aan, en dan gaat de mast plat. En de afstand is dan maar 500m or less, dus dat gaat altijd goed.
In the video why are you sailing in the day with your red internal light on ? Oh its a lock by the way 🙂

I try to earn so extra money being a floating red light district. ;-) The camera did not pick up the almost darkness, but it sure was dark enough, You see the cars also with lights on.
