It sounds like her "dysphoria" didn't come from gender issues. It came from the fact that she was probably constantly reminded that she was indeed not an elf. It tracks well even considering the fact that she wanted the surgery for her ears to look more elfish? elvin? Elf-like? Fantastical.

Its one thing to get it because you like the look and you want to rock it. It's another when the extent of your vocabulary is devolving into Groot speak, except "I'm an elf!"

I like races with what I call "outstanding" features that I can find interesting uses for as well as some (dm approved) customization. Like Aarakocra's flight but also finding ways to utilize their beaks and talons for utility (for one campaign I'm playing a peacock aarakocra, dm has allowed me to use the peacock tail to get advantage on some CHA rolls) , or centaurs with their hooves. In my current campaign my centaur druid broke up a bad bar fight that spilled into the street with entangle. When one drunk started saying threats, she turned around and bucked him in the face. She's reared up and slammed her hooves down to intimidate for advantage and many other fun things.

My blood is boiling from this girl. Not only did she plagiarize another person's story/campaign idea but she hates the idea of the villain being redeemed? Wtf?😕

I... Have a small bit of insight, just don't judge me. I dabble a little with ERP sites from time to time, obviously everyones got their kinks and fetishes. However there is a special breed of fetishists that is all encompassingly obsessed with one particular thing. So obsessed that it's literally all they talk about, to the point that rps don't get off the ground because they only talk about the fetish during the discussion process. Literally you're trying to talk about setting, limits, etc and every reply "Yeah that's fine but can your character have french tipped nails? If someone unironically calls themselves an empath, that is a huge red flag. As near as I can tell, empaths don't exist, or at least not in the way most people think, so someone calling themselves an empath is often just code for "I am a manipulative covert narcissist who uses bullshit pseudoscience to excuse my behavior". The Elf simp was already throwing up red flags left and right , as soon I heard her say that, an air raid siren started going off in my head as the veritable Red Flag Armada arrived.

I'm gonna chime in as a person who likes to read psych papers for fun, and yes, they do not exist. Empathy is something fundamental for human function, and different people have varying levels of it. But the idea of an "empath" as it's portrayed usually, is nonsense. Even then, people with abnormally high levels of empathy are at a high risk of being overstimulated, which doesn't seem to be an issue for these so-called empaths. Also, the getting defensive thing that we see with Lusamine doesn't appear to be a symptom of a person with a lot of empathy, but rather lack thereof, like we see in narcissism. DISCLAIMER: I am a scientist, but not specifically a psychologist. I just know how to read papers pretty well.

I've run into someone like Lusamine who tried to guilt trip me, and I just told her straight up that I know she's trying to guilt-trip me and be manipulative, that I was "not going to play her game", but if she would like to talk to me about her problems like an adult that it was fine, I'd listen and offer the best advice I could, just don't try to twist things or try to manipulate me. She didn't have much of a response to that, and we haven't talked since then. She didn't try to badmouth any of us though after leaving the rp server, she just left after saying she was going to take some time off and get therapy. I honestly just hope wherever she is right now that she's doing alright and got the help she needed.

I tend to be the obsessive one in my games. That being said I'm a DM myself and therefore have respect for the story and an understanding of the effort involved. My example is thus: I am currently a player in Vampire the masquerade. My character is a morally gray sociopath with a near obsessive drive for diablarie. An obsession that will undoubtedly result in his own death. So I figured fuck it I'll take dark fate as a flaw and let the DM in on my untimely demise so as to make it part of the story rather than an affront to it.

oh hey, curse of darkness! when you get the sorcerer/mage devil, doge, here's a tip for you: a certain type can learn a secret ability that can only be obtained by running in one direction for, like, twenty minutes or so. if you're using a controller, it's as easy as putting a hairtie or rubber band on the left stick and leave it for a while. i'm sure you can set something up if you're using an emulator and have a keyboard setup. there's probably a setup somewhere. i can't remember which type of mage devil it is who can learn that ability tho, so check the castlevania wiki. i think the ability is called 'salamander' or something

Makes me realize my obession over dragons (as I am a scaly) is literally not so bad compared to her and her obsession with elves. I don't rewrite historical events claiming that dragons existed OR I wanted to disfigure my skin to have scales instead (not sure how I'd do that anyway). But what really rubbed me the wrong way was the plagiarism of Gloria's campaign. As a writer, I cannot imagine how Gloria must feel seeing his campaign being stolen by a player and then gutted to fit her needs. And when called out for it, she pitched the queen of all hissy fits for being caught. Excuse me?! You have a lot of growing up to do, girl!

Actually... Now that I heard the story and got an idea of what this person is like... I believe I may have seen this individual in the flesh without realizing it. It was at one of those art show gatherings I seen this one chick dressed up with elf ears a frilly gown and this pixie hair cut. I refuse to believe this is the same individual tho. The chances of her being in the same city on that day, let alone in the same state as me, are literally in the millions. I read this one on Reddit myself last week. It's pretty crazy.

It's not uncommon for people who are abusive to attempt to flip the narrative to frame their victims in a negative light. Lusamine acting like not having control over the actions of people trying to be friendly is somehow suicide baiting is truly deplorable. When a person tries to use guilt or sympathy to form a codependent relationship, just run.

I had one of those players who ALWAYS played the same character over and over, a cursed tiefling with way too much SA in her backstory. I was running Hackmaster 4th, where there is no tiefling, so she played... a cursed high elf who LOOKS like a tiefling. Then ran D&D 3.5 where tieflings are Level Adjust +1, and ai said the tiefling wouldn't fit the plot. She didn't end up playing.

Damn if this girl was a KZreadr she be pulling a techlead and throwing (as an elf) at the end of every video lmao

Funny. I just heard of the elf lady one on Crispy's Tavern but your approach is better and holy crap; she has some serious issues. The toaster bath would fail totally due to all of the safety features in modern electronics but everything else; either total fabrication or she is super fragile. Sigh and gender dysphoria? Holy crap; how? That's 1000% on her!

New group, I get it. But Elf REALLY needed to be told "NO" a lot sooner and much more often. Being considerate of her feelings was fair enough, but if the party had to hold back because ANY negative feedback would set her off, then that was unhealthy for the entire game.
