I’m glad she found her father but her anger is misdirected at her aunt. The only people responsible for finding out if you were blood is your mother and father. Although he told the aunt this information, sounds like she might’ve been a pre teen or teenager. What was she supposed to do? Knock on her momma’s door with no proof and stir up shit? Her father was wrong for not trying to confirm her DNA but, in the same breath, her mother sounds like she was playing games. “She’s yours” this week but next week “this ain’t even your child.” It’s trifling hood behavior and she really only has her parents to blame for that missing piece of her life. No one else. I myself am an aunt who has a brother who has several kids that he isn’t taking care of. It becomes A LOT to deal with. The first two of my brother’s kids, we helped pick up the slack. But when you come around with baby 3, 4, 5 etc and he isn’t pitching in financially but expecting his extended family to support HIS kids, it’s way too much. Our family told my brother that if he had any more children we would not be pitching in financially and that he would have to figure it out. Sure enough baby momma number 3 and 4 popped up on our doorsteps with their hands out. We have nothing more to give. When folks are laying down y’all need to start asking yourselves these questions: do I want to pro create with this man/woman? If I do, can I afford these kids if my partner isn’t there? How many kids does my partner currently have? Is he/she a good father/mother to those kids etc? The women my brother impregnated knew he had 2 kids and no job to care for these children yet they decided to have kids with him anyways. At this point, y’all need to figure it out and stop expecting extended family members (who also have their own kids, homes and bills) to help you raise your children. I feel sorry for people like the young lady on the show but folks cannot take away from their own homes and kids because your mother and father are irresponsible. It is what it is 🤷🏾‍♀️ Thank you for coming to my Tedx Talk 😌😂

Beautiful young lady. This type of history is ugly & constantly repeating itself. I had the pleasure of mentoring a young lady whose mother would call her very ugly names & wouldn't tell her who her father was. Her mother & the father promised they would never tell until he dies. He died when she was 18 years old. I grew up with both of her parents. I had no idea. Their little secret really damaged their daughter. She's 36 years old and had been through so much. If you're going to enjoy the pleasure, enjoy the consequences. Children deserve so much more. 😮

She can’t be mad at the aunt nor anybody else but her MOTHER and FATHER, they laid down and conceived you, they made that decision, they are the only ones who owe you any explanation. I’m glad she can heal that part of her, but baby, it ain’t auntie fault.

I'm glad she had the DNA closure and I hope he comes around more. He reminds me of my brother. In fact looks just like him. My brother was non emotional like him but he love his children. My brother and family had to go through almost the same situation. He impregnated this girl who family had bad blood for generations like the Hatfields & McCoys. Their family murdered some of my relatives and my family murdered some of theirs as well. So her family moved her out of town to give birth and raise her child with other relatives. One day she visited back and her grandparents had my niece in the grocery store. My auntie who didn't not play had to chase them down in the aisle to look at that child. They hurried up and left the store. At the time I didn't know what was happening because I was young. There was a big age gap between me and my brother. My aunt told me that was was your niece and she said it's a damn shame people hold grudges this long.

The auntie is being placed with a lot more responsibility than the father… it doesn’t make sense why she should be the main one talking about it and trying to get through it.. it’s not we its him… he did it, he chose that

I’m so happy for her and I got very emotional (in both positive and less positive ways while in my own healing process) when she said “I wanna be able to say- ima call my daddy and he gon’ beat you up!” I couldn’t feel that hit me any harder than it did. Getting this kind of closure and sense of a true fatherly figure and shoulder to lean on, is a dream and seeing this happen for someone else gives my own inner child a bit of healing and I hope more people get to have this kind of closure for themselves.

I think dad didn't respond because the AUNT was between them, hugging his daughter for a long while he watched. If she wasn't sitting between them he would have hugged her.

The mother needs to take accountability too and she needs to take out her anger towards her as well because as a woman, why don’t you know who’s your baby father is and not want to be sure ….

It was a different time and when a woman tells a man that the chuld is not his what is he supposed to do? Its different for black men when the police are called. Forcing his way into a situation can be deadly. I feel for the young lady but her mom told him she wasn't his!

This is ridiculous. That man had ZERO, ABSOLUTELY no rights to assert himself. He wasn't on the birth certificate, mom said he wasn't the father, so save all that anger & accountability for Mom. Mom was the one sleeping with 2 friends.

You are a good woman cause girl I could never forgive a man and his family for abandoning me. They are so cold-blooded stayed right around the corner from you. You don't need them tell them give you the picture that was worth more then them being involved in your life sad

You can't be mad @ auntee and dad is one ginormous excuse😮 maybe he feels guilty for sleeping with his friend's girl. I learned that I'm an aunt from a DNA Test 2yrs ago. Has to be one of my brothers.anyway, I extended the olive branch but never heard from her
