DMV Philippines: Taken in by Villagers: Moto Camping on Samal Island
In Part One of this Philippines moto-camping series, I rent a Honda ADV scooter and take the ferry over to isolated Island of Samal. Here, I ride thru heavy tropical rains and traverse muddy jungle roads before being taken in by the inhabitants of a small village.

Hi. I am immensely grateful of your reactions/feedback towards my family. Surely if my grandfather is able to speak your language fluently, definitely you'll have more fun and will be offered to drink some coconut wine😂. Though I must explain the confusion about the "google map thing", it was my doing and my Lolo and Lola have no idea at all about it. But my grandparents are the best so I know your stay if not the best for sure it was better. Come again!

Thanks so much! I had an awesome time hanging out and getting to know your family. Their hospitality to me was world-class and very much appreciated!! And the food was amazing!! Please tell them thanks from me 😊
The Philippino peoples legendary kindness and hospitality shines through as always. Beautiful land... you couldn't have picked a better way to see the country! Try not to catch the Spanish itch!!

Hello! Thank you so much for your reactions and feedbacks towards our family, especially to my grandparents (I'm one of their many grandchildren; pinned comment user szakura2524 is my cousin). Those kids you just included in the frame are my cousin, niece and nephew. Thank you for having them in your video. I wish I could've been there to be a mediator of the English language, but I hope when you find the chance to visit again, I'll be there. I hope you had lots of fun!

Thanks so much man! Glad you enjoyed it. More to come!
He did have a catchy laugh if nothing else a great attitude and someone who enjoys life. I can't believe he is able to weld all of that up in a days time just show their work ethics. I use to work with a guy who's wife was from there and use to make lunch plates for us and use to make a really good chicken adobo. Still have the recipe.

Considering the friendliness of your hosts, how you and Scooter Tramp Scotty live, just what is poor? It seems to be more a state of mind and not how much you own.

Ok. I finished the video and must comment again. It's great to see the usefulness of the different designs of motos as per terrain. Ride of the valkeries? That always cues in my brain as I embark on an adventure. Riches come from enough to eat, a safe place to rest and belly laughs with your brothers. The poorness of these people create the richeness of their lives. Americans could learn to drop status and "jones's keeping up" in order to recieve the blessings these people clearly display. Joe your work is making a difference in the comment section, keep going brother!

This is why travelling is so great, it totally opens your mind & heart! It's always the same when people have very little they will happily share with others. When people have a lot, they jealously guard what they have. We have been told don't go to the PI it's too dangerous etc, Joe smashes that belief...

@@dirtymotorcyclevagabond i actually did 4 months in my Toyota Corolla with an old school tent last year and it was one of the only times i felt truly free. Put 20 thousand miles on my car starting in Seattle to Maryland then to California and up the coast and stopped wherever the fuck I liked. Asia intrigues me more than doing the states again though.

Despite what you hear in the media about other countries people are friendlier and very kind. Actually some American cities (from Texas) are dangerous and some people can be outright cruel. Thanks for sharing your adventures and exploring other cultures.
