    Dmitri, sung from the heart . As the choir sings in Russian he smiles as he acknowledges the choir , as the Russian musicians play their traditional instruments. There is a video of Dimitri, singing 'Moscow Nights ', in Russia as the audience are so moved. A sad loss to the world , may you rest in peace , Dmitri.

    Thank you so very kindly for providing a simultaneous English translation to this very moving tone-poem that was so beautifully sung. Undeniably, the soul of the Russian people and their love of country runs very deep and profound over many centuries: their ability to endure through profound suffering and their shared appreciation of who they are as a people is inspiring. I hunger for a similar communal experience of an identity in this country -but we are now too far from an agricultural society, too far removed even from the land, let alone from a shared sense of history, faith, culture and destiny. And yet, it is impossible not to resonate warmly, profoundly...even intimately, through the miracle that happens while listening in on this Russian event. A great artist transcends time and space, and the late Dimitri accomplishes this; his shared gift is as immortal on earth as his soul is in the realms of the immortals. Listening to him again awakens again our own awareness of what it is to deeply enter the mystical beauty that Almighty God had always intended His creatures to share among themselves, amidst His creation.

Since then I have watched each and everything I could find on him And about him. His voice was truly one of the best in the history of the world. His sound is incomparable and indescribable. I regret now that I never got to hear him in person. He’s my role model!!! Much love and prayers to his family due to his passing.

    @@user-py1jg6bb2r Both. Don't take me wrong, he's a great singer, and his charisma, his beauty, his voice made him a great artist. And even in opera houses, though he was maybe not the greatest, he was certainly among the great ones. He was a great opera singer. But in microphone singing, he was really a master. It's a tricky art, and very few people with big voices really manage to master the art, and become really popular. The microphone was an instrument that he explored and mastered with much taste and he made great things with it. I am not an opera purist who would say that to condescend him. To me it's a compliment.

    It's not incredible at all. It's a very little constricted sound, but with a wide effect. It's permitted by the microphone. Hvorostovky was a wonderful microphone singer, he knew exactly how to use this instrument. I neve saw him in an Opera house, but many people tend to testimony that his huge voices lacked real resonance and power to fulfill a big theatre and that he was sometimes miscast for roles much to big for him. About this I don't know. But it's sure that the word "effortless" would never apply to him, as he seems very often to make much effort without a microphone to produce sounds than others make much more relaxed. Though I love listening to his russian songs, aria antiche, etc...

  • @AntoineGarnier

    @AntoineGarnier

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@manueladenise4358 No. Saying that having a non laudatory opinion on an artist in "non christian", it is not christianity. It is pure and mere bigotry. You can't use Christianity to say people are immoral (you said it) to have an opinion that differs from yours. To me, it's a misuse of your religion, and even disrespectful towards religious values. But honestly, it's not important because to me Christianity is bigotry anyway. :) But art is real. And Hvorostovkiy was a great singer. Not the best, specially not for opera. But anyway, a wonderful individual and a great artist. I don't car for his worshipers. But it's a fact that his long longs in one breath are not incredible with the technique that he uses (constrict sound and microphone). One can sing a note for more than 1 minute with the technique. And Hvorostoski has a tendency to breath very loudly (because of the microphone, the breath is very audible) and to push sound very much. It's not a critic. It's juste a fact. And I think it's a part of the sensual force of his singing
