This kwv txhiaj lus taum paints the story of an orphan who has lost their mother. The beginning of the folk song begins with how illness and death falls upon the mother. As the song continues the story transitions to funeral, the mother’s spirit’s perspective, and ends with how life is without a mother during special occasions such as the Hmong new year.
