    @@learningcameras hello, I just bought the ronin rsc 2 pro combo after watching your review and I have the canon 80 d. I have a issue that camera is not autofocusing while on RSC 2. @@samyakpatel7422 So I personally almost never actually connect my camera to the gimbal so AF wouldn't be an issue. Not sure with that particular setup what's going on but it seems like the gimbal thinks you are trying to manually focus

    Cool review and nic video! Always nice to get the confirmation of a good purchase. 😊 As soon as the RS2 and RSC2 came out, I was already impressed and just had to purchase it, without knowing if I really needed it. One year later, I love it even more and am still finding out new things. Honestly speaking, now that the 3rd Gen has been introduced, I was a bit concerned that it would degrade the RS(C)2, but after seeing several reviews it's clear to me that the RSC2 is still relevant and still has not been overtaken by the competition.

I can only have this facility if I directly connect the camera to the gimbal. - then I do not have active tracking and the other facilities that Raveneye gives. Guess a new camera is called for?

  • @learningcameras

    @learningcameras

    Hey! So payload shouldn't be an issue for the RSC2 but yeah, off center loads can come close to hitting that back of the gimbal if your lens is super heavy or if you are using the 24-105 on the telephoto side. I'm sure it will work, but if you start adding ND filters you will definitely be close to the balancing limits on the RSC2.

    For under slung mode, why not just turn the gimbal upside down? Just let it hang what’s the difference? Lastly does it integrate with the A7s3 better now? I tried it out a few months back and it wouldn’t communicate with the camera properly, causing camera to sometimes shut down, also record button wouldn’t work depending how you wanted to use the gimbal, for example if you wanted to use raven eye plus record buttons or change iso/shutter using gimbal you would have to configure the connection to the raven eye with different cables.

  • @learningcameras

    @learningcameras

    So, for just a single shot...not much of a difference with just turning the gimbal upside down but depending on how you rig the camera with external monitors, it can make a difference. To be honest I usually don't connect the gimbal to the camera. I accidentally cancel recording all the time lol but I have used it with the Raneveye and it does work but I have not tried changing camera settings via the gimbal as I just personally prefer to be cable free whenever possible and too often accidentally change them

    I have used it for over half year. I do have some issue. Hope some are due to user error. 1. There is no dedicated lock mode. You have to press the button all the time if you want to be in lock mode. That is not convenient. If I am use dual handle or if I mound it on monopod. There is no way for me to active the lock mode. There should be a lock mode that programed in the menu. 2. After power on, the camera will start to drift left or right slowly, it won't stay still. I do not know what is the cause. 3. I find if I have IBIS on, the footage is really bad. So I have to turn off the IBIS then the result is good but not great since the IBIS should make it smoother. I never need to turn off IBIS from other gimbals I have used previously. and it helps reduce those micro jitter. But not the case with this gimbal. Drive me crazy to figure out.

    I confused… great Vid again Dan, thanx! But how on earth can you operate the DJI with your mobile phone, without Raveneye?

  • @learningcameras

    @learningcameras

    2 жыл бұрын

    Force mobile works without the Raveneye so you can use that. You can also use a remote controller like an Xbox remote or virtual joysticks on your phone all through the DJI app without Raveneye. The raveneye is only needed to initiate automatic subject tracking and to see a real time feed from the camera on your phone

    I have sony 7RM III and Zeiss 50 mm lence. It´s pretty heavy. I´ve been told that gimbal is not going to support the weight. That is more suitable for kit lences, what do you think?

  • @learningcameras

    It's hard to say...it's not really the weight that's the issue for most gimbals, it's the center of gravity and how much adjustment you get. Definitely for that setup I'd recommend the RS2 or RS3 Pro

    So yes the gimbal will work to stabilize the camera but these gimbals can also plug into some cameras and allow remote operation and no, the D3500 likely will not work with these gimbals because of how old it is but DJI should have a list of supported cameras

  • @njcimaging

    Im Really torn between the DJI RS2 vis the RSC 2. I want to be able to buy a gimbal and use it as long as I can. Right now have the a 6500 and I am looking to upgrade to the Sony A7SIII or the Sony FX3 But I really don't know if the payload is going to be an issue with the RSC2 in the future. Do I Really need to get the RS2 or will the RSC 2 work perfectly fine with any of those camera even if I did add bigger lenses to theA7S or FX3. I really just need something to last as I upgrade my camera set up. As of now I don't think ill upgrade to anything bigger than the FX3. So will the RSC2 be perfectly fine? Please please please help. thank you in advance.

    So the RSC2 is no problem for the FX3 and SIII. Potentially if you were using heavier cinema lenses, F1.2 primes, or big F2.8 zooms all the time, you might be better off with the with the RS2 (the RSC2 will still hold it though) but otherwise, the RSC2 can handle some pretty big setups

    Awesome review, thanks! Do you use auto focus with your Panasonic on the RSC2? I'm curious how that will work since their auto focus system isn't the best (I use the S5 and besides the auto focus it's perfect for me). Thanks!

    Panasonic is one of the only cameras I currently don't rely on the autofocus for. Usually I'll use autofocus to prefocus, lock focus, and then follow my subject at the same distance. With a smaller sensor, you have a bit more room with depth of field so I stop down a bit and just try and maintain the same distance to subject. With my other cameras I typically use autofocus

    All the video was shot on the Sony A7SIII but I did show it off on camera with the Panasonic just because it's larger and heavier so I wanted to show it off with the larger load. But I shoot with the A7SIII personally for most of my stuff including the shots in this video

    Need help can't decide what gimbal to get for my Canon Eos Rebel SL3 Just started filming but I'm looking for a gimbal that is good for sports. This looks tempting but not sure if it is ideal for my type of camera. You just had to sell it out too good.

    So yes, the RSC2 will support that camera well: amzn.to/3sPeiqt The only thing I will say is that I don't think the camera will connect to the gimbal to allow you to change settings from the gimbal itself since that's an older camera. But otherwise it will work fine

    Hello there , I was thinking of buying a rsc2 myself to help my music video production , I can’t find the answer anywhere but I was wondering if the Rsc2 is able to handle the Canon 90D with the original lens it comes with which is a 18 - 135 Mm lens , I looked online and it says it can support up to 6Lbs and the camera with the lens is only about 730g which is 1.609 pounds , do you think it’s okay for me to use ? Thank you!

  • @learningcameras

    @learningcameras

    So I think you should be good but it's almost impossible to guarantee because the issue isn't wait, it's center of gravity. The gimbal only has limited adjustment so if it's too top, front, or back heavy, it won't balance so every camera/lens combo is specific even though it can easily handle the load weight
