Thank you for posting this - you're right too, no one is talking about this! Probably the most frustrating thing about the RS2 Pro kit on day 1, except for the M4 screws that strip immediately on the quick release plates, is the loose tightening on the top stage plate itself. I upgraded to a SmallRig long plate, solved the M4 screw issue, but still encountered the same loose plate. I had been using a strip of gaff tape to create the extra friction point to secure 10lbs builds but that doesn't solve the problem and requires retaping. Just tried your method - had attempted to remove the screw before, but felt the thread-lock resistance and dropped it, for fear of ruining the screw and the locking mechanism, thus needing to buy a new top stage plate altogether. Using a hairdryer set to high, after 2 minutes of applied heat, the screw turned easily. All I needed was the tiniest rotation of the locking gear to get a perfect lock. Thanks again!!

I haven't fixed my issue yet, being that piece you are showing. just recently my plate could not smoothly slide through and I had to force it in for a wedding which was unfortunate but right now when I try its wild, I can smell the metal on metal burning when I just barely try. I hope that it's the lock being too tight because nothing has changed since I bought this and I've used it a ton. its like my plate was switched out and a mm too big or something

Two things. On that model, all you have to do is lift the clamp vertically, then wind backwards. No need to remove the screw. Next, cut the fingernails lol

Same issue. can't seem to figure out which Allen key to use. I bought multiple Allen keys thinking it should have the size I need.
