DJI Ronin 4D 8K x Sirui Saturn 75mm T2.9 Anamorphic - First Impressions & Footage Test
What's up, everyone!
After an extensive deep dive into the best lens options for the Ronin 4D 8K, I finally landed on the Sirui Saturn Anamorphic Lens set which includes the 35, 50, and 75.
So far, I would have to say they are pretty epic little lenses, they are sharp, character-rich, light, and insanely small. I have been hooked on the 75mm and haven't taken it off since I got it. This video shows both the range and ability of the Ronin 4D, as well as the look and feel of the 75mm Sirui Saturn.
Let me know what you would like to see next, I also purchased another spherical lens set so stay tuned for that! Hope you enjoy!

Thank you! 🔥🙏🏼 and this was graded in Davinci Resolve using a CST!
So well Done bro! Few questions! 1.-what ratio are you setting your timeline? 2.-what esports settings you are using for that full wide video? 3.-I just got the 35mm so I am Excited to give it a try!!

That is much appreciated!🙏🏼🔥 My timeline resolution was 8192 x 2698 which was really close to a 2:8:1 export. I also exported in the same resolution to give anyone that wants to see the 8K the option, even though its overkill in many ways lol Based on using the 75mm you are going to love it, these lenses have been really epic to create with! I am excited to get out and test the 35 & 50! Best, Shawn
yeah, but did you try to use the active tracking system with these lenses?

Thank you for that!🔥 and the Lidar has been EPIC. As a solo operator 99% of the time, I can now do things that are not possible unless you have the system. Its been a very unlocking feeling & experience! And YES there are some quirks but when you get used to have everything works its VERY usable and way better than I ever expected.🙏🏼

I got the neutral flare! And personally I LOVE It haha, the blue is great but I love how subtle the neutral can be across all types of projects. ✌🏼
Man, I loved your content. Congratulations and keep it up. I have a Ronin 4D 6k and bought the SIRUI SATURN 35mm and 50mm lenses, but for L-Mount. I have the L-Mount adapter for the Ronin, so I can use the Sirui Saturn lenses on both LUMIX and the new BLACKMAGIC. However, I'm curious to know how the Sirui Saturn DL Mount works on the Ronin. Do you need to calibrate the focus? Does the Ronin recognize the aperture settings of the lens?

Whats up @pedrogama-escamafilms! Thank you very much for that, a lot more definitely coming soon! I appreciate the support!🙏🏼🔥 Nice! Your going to love them, these little lenses have really opened a whole new world for me when it comes to adding some spice to the content I capture. Thats a great question! I have the E-Mount versions, but I am almost certain that none of them have electronic pass through so I want to say even the DL need to be calibrated just like the others with the Ronin 4D. I actually pre-ordered the BMCC6K and I was so juiced, but the order sat for like almost 2 months with no shipping updates.. then the 8K version dropped for the 4D and I was like hmmmmmmm... now we are here! haha Not sure if any of that helped! Best, Shawn
Does the ronin 4D have a 1.5x desqueeze option in camera?

Yes it does! For this I was using 1.65 since it oddly does not have 1.6😅
Hey brother, absolutely fire content! I just have a quick question. Out of the three, what two would you undoubtedly use? I only have enough at the moment to pick up two of these (been wanting them for a while now). I think you have me sold on the 75mm. Would the 35mm be the ticket? Or 50? I’m shooting on a FF Sony FX3.

Whats up Luca! Thank you for that!🔥🙏🏼 If I was to only have one, I would probably run with the 50mm!! Its IMO the best of both worlds, you get the tele look as well as the width from the squeeze factor! The 35 and 75 are also awesome! But your left with more wide and or more tele instead of a happy medium! The 75 has been one of my favessss!! Not sure if that helps! But that would be my suggestion haha that being said, no matter what one you get I am sure you will love it! Best, Shawn
