Do you think this camera is a good option for real estate videography?

Maybe with the Freewell wide angle lens, because the DJI wide angle looks way too “fisheye” for my liking For reference, I’m a realtor and a budding photographer/videographer

@@VegasRey that would be a fun comparison
This camera seems to be just fine for real estate. I don't think there's a realtor who's gonna complain about this image unless they see you film with the tiny little camera. Some ppl still need to see a Hollywood rig to feel like they're getting their money's worth. If the location is bright enough it should serve the purpose.

I shoot real estate and this was a great video. I just got the P3 and I’m planning to shoot a video for a client soon. Maybe I’ll put up my results as well once again great content.

Love your real world advice based on your experiences, Kri! I love all my cameras, including the action cams, but wow does great glass on a great camera create something amazing (if shot well!) :)

@@kriedholm I'm a novice, so not a lot of glass. what I have I love. sigma 24-70 dg-dn (original) is in use 100% of the time during work hours on a sony a7siii mounted to my desk. it's heavy and beautiful - sigma 150-600 dg-dn - great images of the full eclipse on sony a7iv
I recently made a video with the pocket 3 and the agent loved it. I did struggle in small rooms that I had to shoot vertical to get the entire room. I feel like the wide lens of the pocket 3 add some distortion on the edges. But other it's an amazing camera.

FYI, I use the K&F wide angle lens vs the DJI lens…a bit less warping…next, I mount mine on a Z-axis device, with a Halo 360 light…big difference in poorer lit homes…
Great review! One of my gripes about my OP3 is that it’s so light, it’s harder for me to control the Z axis Love the camera overall, though!

Ha I can totally relate. Thanks, Rey!
Did you use the right color space Rec 2020 when you tried HLG? I don’t find it over saturated. It is if you bring it in as rec 709 in your editor.

Now you have me wondering…ha! This is a very good point. Thanks Andrew!
Great breakdown. I would use it because of the terrible distortion.

Picture quality aside (solid dynamic range), first thing I noticed (and couldn't get over) is the lens distortion. I assume that's just with the wide adapter you added? What's the normal focal length of the lens?
@kriedholm
29 күн бұрын
Regular focal length = 20mm and the wide-angle lens puts you at 15mm according to DJI specs.
I think there's a bit of an issue with the wide-angle. It seems to be distorting your walls on the edges. You may want to compromise and not use it to try to straighten those lines. Or try to straighten in post. Or maybe get a selfie stick to raise up the Pocket 3 so that you're more near the center of the room (vertically) to try to straighten? All of that said, great video, very informative. Thank you! :)

You have a good point. The wide angle lens I used probably isn’t needed. Also, I didn’t make too many changes in the edit so you can see what comes directly out of the camera. A little more finesse would probably fix the items you are pointing out. All great observations!

@@kriedholm Thanks. Good point, tho, that (duh) you were trying to show us straight out of the camera. 😄
Does the normal man or woman in the street really notice the difference, I don’t think so. Great video and it looks excellent. Thanks

You have a very good point. Thanks for tuning in!
Did you also try it with 60 fps and shutter speed 1/120 s?

The footage in this video was shot in 60fps
I would say it's good enough for those who are starting out, especially for the clients that are willing to pay for your video a work day at McDonald's.

I agree that this camera could be used as a good way to get started
I have the op3 and the wide angle is good but not for pro paid work. I wish there’s a wide angle adapter with out the distortion but still wider than 20mm

There is a wide angle fix for Final Cut Pro takes out the distortion

I’m having this same issue, but I recently learned that Freewell has made a lens kit for the OP3. A little pricey @ $129, but it comes with 3 ND filters, and 3 lenses. The distortion doesn’t seem to be nearly as bad as the DJI wide angle lens
I own the OP3 too. to be frank, the moves are rather smooth, but compared with a real gimbal a bit too shaky.
@kriedholm

I didn’t apply stabilization in the edit for this video just so you can see what comes out of camera. Doing so will help with this.

@@ArtsyFartze come on, shaky video has absolutely nothing to do with shutter-speed. maybe motion-blur, but that's not the question here. a real gimbal can also smooth down the Z-axis movements.

If you add something heavy to your hand that's holding the op helps stabilize it like a heaver gimbal
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 focus is terrible. I tried to use it a few times for real estate, most footage is unsuable all out of focus.
