Just a small tip - sound from DJI MIC 2 can be much better if you use Lavalier mic. Tested for more than 3 years with Pocket 2 and now with Pocket 3.

You're the guy whose opinion I've been waiting for! :) I'm glad you compared the ZV-1 to it. That's what I have, but I've had my eye on the Pocket 3.

As a music producer, I'll tell you some tips. If your room is not acoustically treated then the easiest solution is to move the mic as close as possible to the source (your mouth). Secondly, there is no need to fill up the whole room with panels, every room has some points that if you treat them, the results will be noticeable. Finally, I would advise to to make some diy panels cause they are cheaper. What I have done is, I build a wood frame 1.2m x0.6m and 15cm width and I used two slices of knauf ultracoustic p 7+7cm. They work too well (cost per panel around 15€). The results are tremendous. Hope I helped you

Man, that "Pocket3 mouth-stand" while you were painting was a show stopper for me, laughed so much I had to. I have this camera and it's transformed the way I film and also do other stuff like teaching, doing workshops..

When I use regular cameras, I also use the exposure lock option most of the time, but the automatic exposure function of osmo pocket 3 is very amazing. (It's like iPhone) It works in a place with large contrast, like your studio. Try using osmo pocket 3 with the color normal and the exposure automatically.

Good thoughts as always! It’s a fun little camera, but a lot of things I miss from a full frame….its size and for people that don’t know how to use a camera it’s great!

Color looked of sometimes outside either the P3. Love your house keeping outdoor shots. Have a similar grass cutter myself with 80v stiga and a blade. For mowing I use the Husqvarna Rider, so a lot of swedish great... Gut a dji mic 2 with the Sony adapter a few days ago. Great!

Your garage is awesome. Love all the background pieces. Lots of details. I'm not knowledge about which audio is better. Most average ppl may be happy with either source.

Hey Peter. As always, thank you for your insight on the OP3. Be careful not to fall into the trap. I found myself only using the OP3 and nothing else 😂. Six months later, and I'm finally back on my A7iv and only using the OP3 in travel and on the move situations. At 1:42 I see you already got paint spots on it 😅, love that! Mine has been taking a beating as well, but holding up pretty good for how flimsy they feel. 🤙

You should consider a troltex sealing - does a great job for the sound.

Great review. I would love to see DJI make a S35 version with a fast zoom and built in NDs. A camera like that would be all most need 90% of the time.

I brought a bunch of gear to CES, including Sony ZV-E1, ended up using the DJI exclusively 😅

*I also own the OP3 and I think it is an absolutely wonderful camera to use in everyday shooting setups, as it's so darn fast and accurate. Open and close the screen like you're doing, say, 50 times in a row, and I'm almost 100 % positive you will break the camera !*

​@LifeofJohnG Dji has been very cool about replacing all the units that has the screen defect issue. I've had no problems with mine but quite a number of the open/close mechanisms broke within a month of using.

You have to hang the panels about 10cm from the ceiling (usually with some short chain). The air pocket is what you're looking for. And a proper XLR shotgun mic is the best through and through. And for the DJI mic, put it on your chest. Don't put it on your hat or neck line - that's a dead spot and takes away the low boominess and strength of your chest voice.

Yeah I’ve tried, didn’t do any difference and looks like shit 🫡. The sound from the DJI mic sounded good imo, tried both the cap and the chest.

Great video Peter, as always! Do you like the Pocket 3 better than the Insta360 Go3? We've been bouncing back and forth between these two since they're both such a small form factor (mainly weighing the pros/cons between the gimbal vs. the Free Frame option on the Go3). That being said, we've always loved DJI, so it's a tough choice!

I got the creator combo, and it comes with a short base extension with the quarter twenty mount. So, I don't have to use the larger battery to use a tripod. It sounds like you didn't get that. Which would be surprising.

Yes i noticed that. But i wanted to shoot in LOG to see the dynamic range. I think the AutoExposure have a hard time finding a correct exposure in LOG.

Russell beating Lewis by .312 seems fishy. If the margins were finer it’d make some sense but that large usually means the cars are different.

Man everyone keeps hyping up the ECB1M but it is kind of unusable unless camera is mounted on a tripod. Constant rattling sound picked up from internal shock mount. This would literally be the perfect mic for sony cameras without it. I hope they update it soon...

@@PeterLindgren1 I was being overly dramatic with "unusable." But the rattling is definitely there when walking, any sudden movement. But I actually just found out about the rubber band fix for it. I agree, amazing mic, would have been perfect if not for flawed internal shock mount.

I agree, but I find that it's slightly better in D-logM at -0.3 EV, then using the dji LUT to add the colors.

How's the battery life on this?
