Definitely impressed with the optical avoidance in amongst those trees especially at pace with some of those smaller branches/sticks poking out. Very impressive it followed you throughout the run. Would love to see another straight speed test with the mini 4 to see if it really did miss that branch or it was just luck.

im guessing that branch was too difficult even to better sensors to avoid, the mini 4 simply got lucky

The dedication on this video to test the drone is nuts

Two drones strapped on top of an FPV gives you new legendary status! The branch test, I think the 4 aced it not that the mini3 was bad! I think the mini 4 is worth it for waypoints alone

Same Update as iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 15 Pro. Just small changes to make it a little bit better. It's hard to make a great product even greater. But I really appreciate they've put the bigger antenas on the remote. Also, I really appreciate your videos! Keep em coming!

Comparing it to iPhones is a terrible comparison. The drones have differences beyond their names.

Crazy how when Peter starts running, the Mini 3 weaved around the trees to find its way thru which was cool 5:45 ....but even cooler was the Mini 4 just said to itself...SCREW IT FULL SEND!!!! 7:03

Small correction as the D LOG on the Mini 4 Pro is D LOG M. If anyone is using Mavic 3 D LOG conversions, they won't have the same contrast values when used on D LOG M footage. Great vid!

Apparently the Mini 4 Pro has a stacked sensor, that's something the Mini 3 Pro does not. So a slight advantage of the Mini 4 on the camera front. Thanks for the info Sam from my Editing Course Discord Group! EDIT: Seems like KZread has compressed the video to pieces.

Great video, always love seeing wind tests with these mini drones because its the only area where they somewhat lack but WOW, it handles it great. And the stability of the video is amazing

Thank you very much for this, an easy and simple explaination of everything these drones has to offer. I've been flying my friends drone so this will be my first one, so i will go with the 4 Pro after this. I'm sure as a newbie, i'll start off slow but will progress quickly as we like to take photos of our trips. The reason i really wanted to find a good video was for the active track option, now i feel i understand it a lot better and thats why I'm starting with a more expensive drone (and flying my friends has given me the confidence that i won't write it off on my first flight!). I bought mine 1 year ago, and I regret it so much now, I did not like that it only had D-Cinelike, the new one has D-log which would make me use the drone 10 times more. But I can not justify buying the new one since I have the Mini 3 PRo. Great video Peter, I got to know everything I wanted to know. Crazy invention at the start as well :-)

I upgraded from the 3 to the 4 and all my best footage has come from the 4, it was well worth the upgrade for me personally.

I agree here. They’re about the same. The only things that potentially make it worth upgrading to the 4 pro are the sensors, waypoints, & D-Log.

Great breakdown of if you should buy this drone, totally agree with the reasoning. Cool video Peter!

The waypoint shots with the car is the biggest reason for me to switch from 3 Pro to 4 Pro. It was almost impossible for me to be tracked/fly manual when I drive my MC.

As someone fairly new to drones, I *would* love to get the 4, especially for the safety of full surround collision detection (and the other new features are nice too). I'd have to sell my mini 3 pro to afford it, though.

coming from mini 2 to mini 4 is a great leap, the features and camera of this drone doubles my expectations compare to mini 2, I was not really into the obstacle avoidance but it's a good addition, what interest me is the D-log,

Your video was great, liked the comparison, I have to say after watching I will stick to my dji mini 3 pro.

Just got the mini 2 with the fly more combo for my Hawaii trip to get some shots knowing this was coming out soon. Definitely going to send back the mini 2 get that money and put it towards the mini 4 Pro.

I just wonder how much more side viewing is done with 4 pro verses 3 pro coz it seems cams facing front are only at a bit wider sngle, if you could test that be interesting.

Can always count on you to do something different. Thanks for this review Peter. It all depends on the use case right! Overall, if you can get a good price for selling the mini 3 to offset the cost of m4p then it's a no brainer. We would all have liked to see some significant improvements with the camera but it's performing well. That coupled with the new obstacle avoidance, waypoints, d-log m and lets not forget occusync 4.0 transmission.... I think it's a great improvement to the mini series.

It absolutley has some nice features, but nothing that would make me instantly sell my 3 pro if i only had that. That said, the 4 pro is a wicked drone!

Nice video. I have the M3P and don't see the need to upgrade to the M4P.

Thanks for the review. I would probably get 1/5th of the cost for selling the mini 3 so it doesn't seem like its worth an upgrade to me. I'll wait another 1.5 years and upgrade to the 5 when that comes out, which I'm sure will have improved obstacle avoidance (Since this is the first mini to do full obstacle avoidance) and a better camera and other features.

Hands down, the best review on YT…. Been deciding which to buy since the M3P release…. Now I know… Thanks for the review.

compared to the 2 definitely. the whole experience with the rc2 controller has been great too.

As someone who flies sideways, like a lot, just the omni directional sensors justify the upgrade. Have crashed my mini 3 pro at least twice for the same reason. If only they could somehow add a tele lens to it, it would kill!

Great great video~! I'm upgrading my M3P to the M4P. I've had the 3 for 6 months and as a solo content creator the options for the 4 with waypoints and extra sensors is worth the upgrade. If I was a just a hobbiest the 3 would work fine. But for me to have the Waypoints allows for more creative shots by myself. I'm selling my M3P for $1200 on ebay, it comes with the fly more package too. Good luck!

You can set up a waypoint mission in the comfort of your own home, even without the drone being connected to the RC. Switch on the RC and connect to your WiFi. Then tap 'Connection Guide' (bottom right). Then tap 'Camera Guide' (top right). Then tap the waypoint icon (middle left). Select your map area. Then make and save the mission.

I’m DEFINITELY upgrading to the Mini 4 Pro from my Mini 3 Pro that I have had for 1 Month and 2 weeks.

No i don't think so.

I think the mini 4 pro would have hit the tree as well. I think there is definitely an upgrade but fine branches remain difficult for the camera/sensors to detect. For the rest; Peter, cool video!

Yes, it was only luck for the MP4 with the tree brunch ...in theory, the mini 3 Pro should see without the fisheye lenses better in the front (18m vs. 25m of the Mini 3 Pro)

Sold my M3Pro last week for £800 and now have a shiny M4Pro, for me all the extra features was worth it, despite having to buy a whole new set of new filters!
