@@TheBrownDude You're wrong! Because Mini is under 250 grams, you don't have to register it with FAA as other bigger drones, but you're flying UAS, you have to still comply with FAA rules like under 400 feet, 5 miles from an airport...

This was entertaining and I find the sticks being removable actually useful for my preference. The concern I would have is if they folded down and locked in place is that going to lose the durability of the springs or its mechanics of the joysticks significantly or not. Anyway I love my mini 2 and the 3 definitely looks amazing

Just can’t get enough of Italy. From your previous post - just point the camera in any direction. Photographer’s dream.

Here in the USA, sub 249 Grams means you don't have to register the drone with the FAA, however, you still have to obey all of the drone "rules". This means only flying in uncontrolled airspace or getting LAANC authorization. And if you are using it to further a business, you still have to obtain a Part 107.

I’ve been contemplating getting the Mini 2 Fly More bundle this entire year based on the size and being able to fly it anywhere (that was a key factor in my choosing it over the others). Been trying to save up, and now this one comes along so I’m glad I didn’t buy the 2 so I could get this one instead! Great video as always, Pete; not sure if the drone would fit in my shoe though 😅

DJI just added 10-bit color in D-Cinelike setting with a firmware update. Suddenly this makes it a pro option.

That’s my problem as well I got the 2s but the vertical video is big for me, also with the gimbal being able to rotate 60 degrees I can think so so many ways this can come in handy.

@@minarge yes, but I'm more into video.. honestly I would trade the air2s for a mavic 2 pro because it has adjustable aperture and I find most drone settings have too much light. I don't like having to use ND filters just to get appropriate motion blur, also I don't like how wide the FOV is on the air 2s vs m2p. Personally..

I dunno if I am gonna upgrade from my mini 2! It’s so hard to fly now! Like New York was a no no! And more places are getting like that

1:02 shot in reverse? Great review as always :) Price is a little steep for a mini but so far seems to be worth it.

Hey Peter, love your videos. You have inspired me to start learning. I have used premiere pro for a year now and I seem to have hit a wall. How can learn the really cool things you do in premiere. Master classes don’t show the cool stuff. Any help would be much appreciated.

mA lot of people specify that they won't deep throat DJI just for new toys. Besides, I've seen a lot of negative reviews on these kinds of things too

To be honest, I have been waiting for this moment when my one favorite Peter meets the second one ;)) Guys you are doing a great job just being yourselves all the time. Keep it up, giving us positive vibes in the technology world!

Question: How does it deal with wind? My experience with small/light drones has been marked by awful crashes due to even mild wind.

What winds are we talking about? In Scotland it's quite windy and both Mini 1 and Mini 3 are dealing well with those. I am not talking about 30+ mph with gusts 50+ mph, but 10-22mph(~17-35kmh) was definitely okay. On top of that there seems to be nice improvement with Mini 3 around that in comparison to previous versions.

If the stick should fold down.. the only problem might be the hinge and spring if it stays in place that long. Instead of it being removable. But still, great idea.

I love the small form factor which makes it very ideal for when travelling and vertical shooting would be handy as I enjoy making content on Instagram and tiktok. My only question is with the footage looks extremely saturated and over sharpened... Is this potentially only youtube thing....

Mini has a 31 min, not getting to much more battery from this.

Can you turn the downward sensors off? That's the big issue with the Mini2, especially when trying to land on a moving boat. You get into position and the sensors detect something moving close beneath the drone and fire it back up into the air! Also, the sticks should fold down, I'm surprised no one has mentioned this... 😉

I don't know how it's on the minis but I just go into Sportsmode which disables all of the sensors

You can always just hold the stick down and it will override the downward sensors.

No the 249g means you don't have to have it registered to fly. Still can't fly in restricted airspace which national parks usually are.

You still have to be pretty careful about security sensitive areas and objects like prisons, government and military sites. It can pretty much get you into trouble anyways.

Isnt that "this thing is legal everywhere" inaccurate? The only difference if you dont register it, right? Otherwise it has the same flight restrictions and itll auto block take offs just like a heavier drone.

That claim can be misleading to some... you still can't fly drones no matter how small/lightweight near airports, military facilities, and random other places depending on your country like national parks, crowded places, etc etc. So watch out for "legal everywhere".

Saying you can fly it everywhere because it’s under 250g is super misleading. Not sure about Italian or Canadian laws but in the US, being under 250g just means you don’t have to register the drone, you still have to follow all the laws regarding UASs provided by the FAA and there are absolutely places you cannot fly regardless of the weight of your drone

Duh just because it is light doesn't mean you can fly it wherever you want it to go

The amount of marketing DJI does by sending a drone to every single influencer both in Instagram and KZread is just insane. No one is gonna talk bad about the drone they all want to keep good relationship with DJI
