I've seen hundreds of Drone reviews. I'm a qualified Drone Pilot....since 2017 so I feel I can make a genuinely informed comment. Your review is just 100% on the nail! I love the fact that the information comes ahead of the personality. I just want the information....plain and simple! You are the bench mark for how any KZread Video should be. At last...a no nonsense video!

HAHAHAHAHAHHA The drone noise test part was sooo good 💀. Gotta love Dji for always releasing solid upgrades. They dont just put one new feature and call it a day..literally fixing as much quality of life / features as they possibly can for the next one.

I just got back from Iceland , carried this drone with me. Flew it in the wind, over huge waterfalls, many times. It performed flawlessly. I am impressed, so far. It flies well and the camera is awesome.

planning to go july 2023 but im constantly reading about more restrictions using drones there like in national parks. I love the fact it can capture so many different perspectives so quickly. Instead of taking a camera and having to walk up and around to get different shots of landscapes, waterfalls, etx.

@@beachdweller3378 you'll be able to use in many amazing places where there are no restrictions. The place I had in mind when buying the drone was Stokkness and there no restrictions there. Also many many other amazing places. Just do some research and you'll be ok.

I flew in Iceland in 2019 with the original Mavic Pro - and it held up amazingly over the falls! I'm overdue for an upgrade and this may be the drone. Also overdue for a trip back to Iceland...and Athens (didn't make it due to COVID, so time to make up) 😃

Love the down-to-earth, feet-on-the-ground reviewing style here! I have a Mini 2 which has been a revelation. As I post mainly on Instagram I’m going to upgrade to the 3 because of the rotating lens, and take all the other incredible features as a mega-bonus. Incredible work, DJI - chapeau!! 👏👏👏👍🤩

I particularly like the final comment about the 3 having its own market. I'm definitely in that market. I love the 2 but owning a Phantom 4 Pro, I missed so much apart from the shear bulk and noise. I think it was a clever strategy giving the "Pro" designator to reinforce this being a seismic leap rather than a gentle step up. I simply cannot believe they've changed just about everything other than the weight. It also means us 2 owners aren't left with some obsolete dream. They've opened up a decent used market so hoping to recover 2/3 of what I paid in order to upgrade. Great vid!

Holy shit, what a great video. A really good review, but with a lot of unique moments and great jokes as well. I CANNOT BELIEVE you flew that giant-ass Inspire Drone indoors like that, but I love that you did. It was audacious, hilarious, and a really great moment - all at the same time - WHILE being informative as well! Also the joke at 6:21 is fantastic.

Thank you for the detailed intro Alex. Your newsletter and this video prompted me to make the purchase. I am a moto traveler and been using the Air 2 for couple of years now. I was going to shell out $1000 for a smart controller because I've already ruined two phones out on the field, dropping and messing up the charging port but for $1400 including a smaller drone, active track, vertical recording, accessories AAAND a smart controller....Air 2 just went on sale on Ebay. Love your videos and thank you for being a cool youtuber and not one of those "HEEEEYYY GUYS!!!!!"

@@nomadhomad3685 Even the thinnest iphone case won't fit into the controller snug enough to stay put and it's slipped out several times. A lot of times I'm on the side of a mountain road, no shoulder or very little room to park my motorcycle, I just whip out the controller, shove my phone in and get the footage I need before I get hit by traffic and mistakes happen while I'm trying to be quick. Used to have a dedicated iphone 7 for that purpose alone but it started having battery issues and a few time it heated up so I just decided to use my personal phone and already dropped it twice.

The absolute fear growing on your face as you took off with the Mavic 3 and then the Inspire was absolutely worth the entire video!! I like the Mini 3 Pro, but I just think its a tad too expensive. I bought the Air 2s this year and I think they're too close in price for my usage. Thanks for the video!

I agree. I was planning on getting the A2s but ended up getting the mini 3. I think I’m regretting it especially ow that I just found out it doesn’t have a built in fan. Will it be Prone to overheating.

This is the best review by far on mini drones. It was very interesting, absorbing, informative and humorous in places……thanks very much.

Great review. I was skeptical on it with the increase in price and figured I’d just upgrade to the air 2s but I’m seeing now that the mini 3 might be the better choice. Even just the option for those bigger batteries is honestly a game changer. I was at a shoot last week for a condo neighborhood that needed multiple photos of all 36 buildings and video of the community. I went through 3 and a half batteries to just finish the photos and had to drive back another day for video.

Some advice. Drive there a day early. Pre plan everything. Down to the flight path n plans. U will save alot of time and battery. I shot 3 houses. In 3 separate towns one over 45 min away I took one drone 3 batteries. N came home with 1 full still and one with about 1/4 left of flyable charge. I never fly past 38 % batt. So in the end I didn't use much at all. I didn't even pre plan this time . I took roughly 100 pics per house and a 1min video for 2 of the places.

@@maddmavic it was a next day shoot and honestly If I’m going to drive 45 minutes there just to plan it makes no sense not to shoot. It still results in having to go to the property twice. I was quick and hitting each building in a grid like pattern. 36 buildings is just a lot lol

@@Mbehr24 the air 2s is badass man. If you already got it I’d probably stick with it if you plan to be more video focused. That 10 bit color, log profile and 5.4k allowing you to crop in post are definitely nice.

yes but I bought Fatshark HDOs and try to build a 5 inch rig but started to get too distracted with my course and filming work so I just forgot about it. Now I have this drawer full of loose screws and random getFPV parts

Alex, great review. Ive always respected your opinion. I have the Mini 2 and wanted to upgrade to the Air 2 S because of the better camera. I watched another video where they compared the camera in studio between the Mini3 and the Air 2 S and in some cases the Mini3 performed better. With added features like a 60 degree swing upward is the Air 2 S the right choice now?

If you can get the Air2S on sale and don't care about being under 250g, then air2s is a better deal IMO. Recently there was a sale of air2s at $800. You get a tad batter image quality and a bigger and more stable drone.

I both love and hate this. It hasn’t even been a year since I bought the dji mini 2 fly more combo. $800 in 🇨🇦. I bought it thinking the Mini line wouldn’t change the sensor, as it would make it too ‘premium’ and DJI would want to keep that to their more expensive offerings…. @@yuchinxia8030 Costco is selling DJI Mini 2 w/ fly more combos for $519cad. Realistically you could only sell your mini 2 around $300 and if lucky $400. No where near enough to cover the cost of mini 3 pro. At this point I would just wait until mini 3 becomes less expensive.

We just bought this - our very first drone, and I have to say we love it. We have no other experience but watching your video made me happy that this is our first experience with a drone, because it sounds like we've got it reasonably easy! We are photographers mostly, but getting into shooting video has been SO easy with the master shots functionality, and the different video type settings (like the follow feature) you mention. Anyway, this video was great and I enjoyed seeing your work on it too.

Another great video which helped me decide on which drone to purchase for my first ever. As I mentioned in one other video from this gentleman is that I’m approaching 74 and living alone and just wanted to get out more for a purpose that excites me to go out, especially as I live in a very picturesque area and there’s so many areas that I have wanted to explore, looking at ancient stone circles and derelict mine areas amongst so many more places, both historical and new. This truly gives me the ability and freedom to be able to do this and so much more, not to mention giving me an exciting new hobby to pursue and get me out! Not quite sure about the comment of him having no problems as he’s not old or confused; both of which I have to firmly tick each box, but still determined to start to save my money to be able to purchase this drone and pursue this really unique and exciting past time and I never know, be able to perhaps earn a few pence for lateral thinking work. Thank you for helping with the unticking of the ‘confused’ box. Haven’t figured the ‘old’ bit yet, but it will certainly make being old so much more fun.
