My potensic atom is a gem 💎 and highly recommend buying for beginners, 60km per hour is fast and enjoyable. Video quality is really good and surprised me.

Great review/video 🙏 First time user, 70 years old. Planned to use drone to inspect my roof, gutters & downpipes. Bought DJI Mini 2 SE, super stable & great images. Able to do my roof review easily. Feeling I might be missing out, I elected to return my Mini & bought an Atom @ Amazon, awesome features... but there biz method made me a little nervous. Returned Atom & bought back DJI Mini 2 SE at Costco, Fly More kit. Much prefer the DJI controller, love their Refresh program & their business method. Confirmations, receipts & follow up excellent @ DJI. Mini 2 SE super easy, right out of the gate 👍 Cheers

Very good choice DJI is much better drone experience the atoms not a bad drone but it’s definitely not a DJI many people think that DJI drone user’s are bias and most people that think that way, never Onda a DJI drone, you need to own one to experience the difference in dependability I have flown many brands and none compared to DJI Fly. That is a fact.

At 9:50, i think the reason the drone is "losing elevation" is because that's how altitude works on these drones. The altitude you see on screen when flying the drone, and that the drone will try to maintain, is not altitude Above Ground Level (AGL) it, it's altitud above takeoff. That's how it works with the Mini 2 and Mini 3, at least. That means that if you take off, get to an altitude of 3 feet, and then go straight uphill to a place that's 2 feet higher, the drone keeps that 3ft altitude above takeoff, which is now only 1 foot from the ground. At that point the downward proximity sensors probably kicked in. That's the same reason why the drone doesn't inmediately plummet down when you fly it over the edge of a cliff. It also means that pilots of these drones have to pay atttention to their actual AGL Altitude by keeping visual contact with the drone at all times. Otherwise you may end up slamming your drone into a tree when your screen said it was 250 ft high. To avoid that you may also consider making sure you take off from the highest point in the area, like the top of a hill, although then you have to be careful not to end up flying too high downhill, because FAA's 400ft limit is very much AGL and you'll easily surpass it if you're not careful.

But the potensic atom doesn't have this problem ,the atom is worth more than the price advertised. That's for sure 💯

DJI is definitely a more polished experience but they’ve been doing it for years not to mention, there is endless aftermarket upgrades you can buy for the mini 2 starting with ND filters which really do make a world of difference if you’re into good videos

I agree. I have both and accessories for the Potensic are non existent at this point where DJI has everything you could imagine. The Potensic is a very good drone and I think it flies as well as the DJI.

I have both the Atom and the Mini 2. A lot of the same ND filters also fit the Atom lol. But you are right, there is less aftermarket support for it specifically. But they are so similar a lot of stuff made for DJI works on it (i.e. prop guards.) And I know this is an older comment you made but honestly at this point today, the Atom is pretty much as polished as the Mini 2. In some ways even more so with native waypoints. Potensic does very regular updates and they've really gotten it dialed in. At minimum I'd buy an Atom over a Mini 2 SE all day every day.

Potensic Atom and Atom SE is way better camera. and the remote its balance.. highly recommended

I would say it's marginally better camera and most folks will not notice. The remote is awkward especially with big phones. DJI is much more advanced in packaging, software, support, accessories and service. But good to have competition!

From what I have seen both are great drone with their pros and cons, but the Atom has superior features like active track and waypoints which is awesome if that's important to you. Would have been good to over this in the video.

I bought the potensic atom and it is a ripper of a drone,I have never looked back and if you got to buy it get the one with the 3 axis gimbals.AAA+++😊

Potensic is a very good drone, but have a very big problem with horizontal stable.... For me, not for use for cinematic video.... For this price, DJI mini se is better, more pixels it is not all....

Very much agreed. Potensic is good but they're about 3 years behind in terms of stability and obstacle avoidance and self-flying

Potensic Atom 4k is a great option to have since no one likes a monopoly, like DJI has on the drone market. However, the Potensic Atom is 2nd place to the DJI Mini 2 in all categories except video resolution and price. Everything else like quality, support, ecosystem, flyability, phone app, DJI does better. Now DJI has addressed the price and resolution issue with the Mini 4k at $299 kzread.info/dash/bejne/hYKW1quOcqyuh9o.html Potensic is a good company but they need to release a lot more new products that can compete with DJI's latest like the Mini 4 Pro.

Image quality is about the same. Luckily there are four other categories of comparison between the two drones. You might have missed that there is definitely a clear winner in the other areas.

Great test bud . I plan to demonstrate the difference between a Rolls Royce and a Toyota Pick up truck . Both do a great job of getting you from A to B , but the Roller costs a lot more and the people who who can afford it look down their noses at the cheaper automobile. And the end result is that the Roller has more comfort and style but we all knew that anyway , didn't we ?

Well I can not totally agree. You DGI people are in your own click so to speak. The atom Camera is much better in 4 k. It also has more features you did not test, ect. Your test Was far from complete. But you are free to your opinion as I,m mine. But if I was in the market & reading these reviews, there are much better ones out there to comparison the two. DJI has been the leader for years. But now there getting other company’s that are Starting to give them a run for the money. This market is going to change very fast. Good For the hobby in the long run. DJI will not be able to dictate price in the future.

You make some good points. Thank you!!! The camera video quality, slight edge to Potensic. The flying features… both have them. As far as competition, this is Potensic’s latest and this is DJI’s 2-year old effort. They’re on version 4 now and it’s light years ahead. I really hope some companies can compete with current products

They seem to use very similar camera sensors (if not probably the exact same) but to me what kills it for the Potensic is how easy it is to use ND filters for DJI drones. At low altitude, that makes a LOT of difference. On the other side, it seems that the Mini 2 has been discontinued and replaced with the Mini 2 SE, which has the camera capped at 2.7K but same price as the old Mini 2. Which means that at the price point, and if you don't care about ND filters (you should, but nevermind), then the Potensic is clearly a better value, at least on paper. But then again, if somebody asked me for a recommendation on a budget drone, i'd probably advise against either of them and go for a Mini 3 instead. Much better camera and much better flight performance than either of these two.
