I've been able to fly both my mini 2 and mini 3 several miles away and hold strong signal at this altitude. The mini 3 made it to 5.14 miles or 8KM away at 1640ft or 500m and back. Super great. Love the mini 3 for the extended battery. Ali express sells a 3800mah battery for the mini 2 that actually does really good and makes the drone fly for about 41 minutes.

I own a DJI mini 2 & I have my 101 pilots license & with the antenna range extender that DJI makes , I have been over 6 miles high on a great clear day with little to no signal loss , so max altitude can be done with this drone . I currently own a costume drone that I built just a few weeks ago that maxes out twice what the DJI drowns max out at , it’s all about strength output of you antenna . Anyone with the knowledge of drones can boost any drones antenna signal if they know what to look for & how to do it .

since 2018 i have tried with different drones(custom or not) ...i have easy on 6100m...but the problem is you dont know if you are in someone flightpath(small aircraft and helis)....so i dont try it anymore....max is the mountains attitude i go for skiing....

It is 400m or 1640 ft in the US, it is blocked in the hardware. I have maxed it out in several videos via screen recording.

It is not against the law, I’m a certified drone pilot. This flight plan was allowed by the authority. You cannot just asume something that is only true in your mind

@@alvarootero6344 What authority? Just because you got your Part 107 certificate doesn't give you the green light to fly up into the clouds. I spoke to a FAA employee and he said it's hard to believe you got permission to fly that high and would love to know WHO gave you permission. Maybe the person who gave you the "authority" to fly over 9,000 feet elevation is in YOUR head. Unless you can give the name of the so called "authority" and what office he's from, I don't believe what you did was legal. Until then, it's still clickbait.

That is the point, it was not in the USA, 🤣

In the US this would be an illegal flight because it's over 400' or 120 meters AGL without being part 107 certified and flying within 400' horizontally of a structure that is over 400' tall such as a tower, this is probably is illegal in their location too but don't know where this is or what rules they have there. Another youtuber was flying at or around 7000ft amsl but only up to a couple hundred feet AGL from their takeoff point, their flight was illegal because it was a distance test (7 miles) and visual line of sight, you can't expect to see the drone that small (DJI mini 3 pro) at all after a few hundred meters that low and just relying on the fpv screen, and they pushed it to the limit where it force landed and they had to go out and look for it the next day, irresponsible flying because the drone could have landed on someone when it came down, or if anything happened to the the battery on crashing (this was a crash) where it would or could cause a fire. It's one of the reasons I really hate videos like this because people are always flying illegally with things like this.

This is a restricted climb , DJI mini 2s have a ceiling height of 13,000 plus feet without a antenna signal extender that’s hardwired , now if you have a hardwired antenna signal extender it’s 16,000 plus feet , . It’s been done , & it’s out there .

Serious question, the max altitude of my drone is 500m, but I live near some 600m sea cliffs, if I fly off the cliff at 500m so the drop to sea level becomes 1.1km, what would my done do?

Mean sea level doesn’t change like that. You’re referring to Ground elevation. In the USA, you have a fair amount of distance to get it to 400’ above ground/structure elevation. I can fly 400’ over a tower, within a 400’ radius of the tower. Same would apply to a cliff. You’ll have to refer to your local laws with an exact understanding of terminology.

@@ThisisLevani Depends on what you want to test. 500 meters is also not allowed though. At least not in europe. Over there 120m over ground is the legal limit. But as far as I know I can also set my mavic air to a maximum of 500m altitude via the menu. And the 3111m is over sea level and it shows the drone will be flying well in cold and thin air as well as at lower altitudes.

Your title is deceiving. It says you reached 3111 (AMSL) which stands for "Above Mean Sea Level". You clearly did NOT reach 3111 AMSL, you in fact flew at 2611 m, which is NOT to say you were flying at that height. In fact, you were flying 500m above your Ground Level, which incidentally is 300m above your regulations. It is also AGAINST THE law, regardless of which country you fly in, to fly over cities or built up areas. I am not criticizing you my friend, I too am a drone pilot so I am just pointing out some warnings here. Nice footage though. Be careful about those high winds. Last tip, when you turn on Speed mode you are also turning off the feature which informs you of traffic (Air Traffic) in the vicinity plus you're using more battery. So, fly with caution.

I can confirm you those are 500 meters (about 1640 ft) above ground level because I’m a pilot, but if he’s flying in a mountainous area then we can assume the ground elevation is 3111-500=2611m. Nothing is clickbait about this video unless you ignore the meaning of AMSL and you assume he’s flying those AGL (above ground level). I fell for that myself, smart title.
