DJI Mavic @ open-pit mine 4K

Ойын-сауық

The open-pit mine Hambach is a large open-pit mine (German: Tagebau) in Niederzier and Elsdorf, North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany. It is operated by RWE and used for mining lignite. Begun in 1978, the mine currently has a size of 33.89 km² and is planned to eventually have a size of 85 km². It is the deepest open pit mine with respect to sea level, where the bottom of the pit is 293 metres (961 ft) below sea level. There working bucket-wheel excavator. The biggest machine that I've ever seen. 14200 tons,16560kw power, 225m long, 96m high.

Awesome, I have an open pit mine drone video too, is difficult to imagine the dimensions of the equipment on aerial footage but they are huge. Regards!!

Very nice! I'd love to see more industrial locations :) Watch out for "strong magnetic interference" appearing on your mavic though when flying close to large metal objects.

1:58 look at the shadows of the moving wheel! Great shot! - As gigantic as that machine is: can you imagine how long it takes to dig that hole even with that equipment? - I’m kind of waiting for the “Walk of the Ents”-scene from Lord of the Rings ;-)

It’s a bit like filming a Dinosaur! In two hundred years people will look back and shake their heads: can you believe what we did for energy before we had fusion power plants?^^

At what level is the ground water? Do they use pumps? There must be an Aquifer somewhere, when the hole is 500m deep at its deepest?

321 billion litres of water are pumped out per year! There is no conceivably greater interference in the water balance in this country than the open-cast mines.

A question for the author: I'm currently working on a video, which thematizes lignite mining and energy. As a part of that I'm looking for open pit mine drone footage, that I could use in the video. The video will be publicly shared but strictly non-commercial, not a single cent will be made by the video. Could I use your footage? If so, under which conditions? Thanks in advance!

imagine there was a game in wich you can walk on pretty much the excavator in the video, wich would give someone an actual Idea of how big this thing is... andimagine this game would actually have good music, that works really well with that video that this video is "featured" in, imagine... oh that's actually a thing, like all of that, lol!
