Man this is probably the best demonstration of active track so far esp. for a guy shooting cars and bikes just wow and I’m so impressed and i can’t wait to try it out 👍

Now I am more getting convinced to purchase this drone, there were so many negative videos regarding missing functions and issues with mavic 3, waiting for January update and I am also sure dji wld release more firmware in future to solve those little bugs and issues, great video and have it more coming, very impressed.

Great video, Aldryn. Gives us hope. This drone is already the bomb, but I knew DJI would take it to the next level with software and firmware. They have a pretty good track record with that.

But how is it when you go under trees or when you're briefly covered? How 's the new Obstacle avoidance compared to Skydio while tracking?

It's actually a lot smoother getting to a positional track when selecting front or side than Skydio. Skydio swings really fast to the positions, and holds them better, but the end result video is what counts, not how fast the drone moves to position. Skydio does this quick swing to position, yay, but who wants to see a video with that behavior? I've never seen any fast camera motion in a professional production.

It's great to see DJI feeling the heat from Skydio. The future looks bright for drone tracking! They still need something like the Skydio beacon though. That bike mount setup looks pretty cumbersome.

yeah i had the skydio and really wanted DJI's version of what they packaged. That said the skydio was 1/2 the price of this beast :o

Once again, excellent instruction. I read complaints that DJI is selling an “incomplete” product. (Chuckle). Who buys a “completed” computer or phone in this modern age? Updates are not only necessary…they are part of the magic of modern technology. And, sometimes the source of irritation. I am “Autel-first” by nature but, the organic nature of all DJI product has been impressive. And, pivotal to their extraordinary success. Hopefully, my Cine will be arriving shortly. Oh man this is freaking sick....and the part that I thought was super awesome is when you started going down hill...the active track cursor dropped from you to the road for a few seconds at the start of the downhill section. I thought the drone was gonna lose you like some of the other drones did on this test but it managed to lock back on and get where he needed to be.

Love your videos, but still can't get over the "hey that's my neighborhood" feeling in the background of your videos.

Was hoping you would do a track sequence where you change directions frequently and quickly. Maybe in the near future. I also assume it does not have compass position tracking option. For my tracking application, POI is useless. Maintaining one compass orientation relative to the moving subject works so much better when the subject is changing direction frequently and quickly

Hey Aldryn, first of all .. so cool what you made in the last years .. I still remember the "beginning" 👍🏻respect !! We have really bad weather over here in Germany so I could not test it. But did you test to do Active Track and take manual photos? With the M2P it was not possible .. when you shot a pic it stopped tracking/following. would be cool if they fixed it...love those panning shots of cars/trains etc.

I have problems with Air 2S - the memory card is not recognised in the software. I have tried two different cards and both were on DJI's recommended list. All firmware is updated. What next? Is there anything I am missing? Is this a common issue? Thanks.

How to question for anyone here. When I get the green box around me (RC Pro and MAVIC 3) I don’t get the dialog boxes center bottom? What am I doing wrong?

Hi After watching this video I updated the newer firmware right away . After the update suddenly it doesn’t works with the 128 GB (SanDisk Extreme) which was inside the M3 while updating .I also try different 128 GB card and it’s still not working . After I switched back to 64 GB all photo and video are working. Maybe after update . It doesn’t handle 128 GB . Hope you know the reason ? Thanks

seems like it have a set height it would hold, is it possible to change the height and distance while it tracking you?

Is there anywhere an official list of which kind of "objects" active track is working with? I tried to track my dog, but it was not possible. I got a hint on screen something like "must be a person or a vehicle". What kind of vehicles a recognized? I was planing to track a model aircraft for example.

Great review video and thank you. I just purchased my very first drone ever and chose to buy the DJI Mavic 3 Cine so I wanted to research the Active Track feature on this device. Just curious with this question: Why doesn't DJI implement a FOB device to put in your pocket for Active Track or some sort of a Beacon installed in the controller in order to not loose trace of its subject while in Active Tract mode?? Any information you can pass on to me is greatly appreciated by myself and thousands of others. Again, very nice video review with clear explanation. Take care.

Shows the capabilities of the drone very well. Just grabbed one for $1100.00 open box.

Activetrack looks really good especially compared to the old magic 2 pro. I just really wish you didn’t have to mount that huge controller/phone combo to make it work. Really limits the more intense sport self tracking like mountain biking, skiing, etc. skydio still has them handily beat in that regard

Hi there, Ive just updated (Dec 10th 0800am UK time) and I get version 01.00.0400 (not 320) and whiles the update suggested otherwise I have none of the latest features - app and drone say all up to date so very frustrating.... version .400 suggests to me later than .320 ??? have DJI backtracked in 24 hours? Am I the only one without the new stuff ! Cheers, Chris

Update on my last comment - although my app said it was up to date ( and wouldn’t update) it wasn’t - I had to uninstall the app - it now comes back at 1.5.4 and now my Mavic 3 shows the updates While that’s all good, not sure I should have to in-install the app to get there Bottom line is I’m much happier having these updates now rather than January but DJI are all over the place with the 3 launch and I will remember that in future - good luck 😊

Why is it not available to me? It says 01.00.0400 - your firmware is up to date.

Good to see DJI finally catching up with Skydio in the tracking department! But at 3x the price of the other drone. That's giving me a pause.

I got a notification for my mini 2 and am downloading it now. Does this mean my mini 2 gets these features?

I would like to know if, I can use an Android tablet like Realme Pad or Lenovo P11 or Xiaomi Pad can be used as a Monitor instead of a Smartphone for flying DJI Drones such as Mini or Air, but prefer DJI MINI 2 Series.? Great content, learning more and more. Thank you
