I think a few more firmware releases are necessary to iron out the kinks, no different than what we experienced with the original DJI system in 2019.

Great comparison! The Vista camera has so much more dynamic range ofer the darker image of the O3. That i was not expecting! Not sure what i have to think about that. I love how my Vistas ans Air unit V1 with the original DJI cameras are...

In flight the shadow details are not as noticeable or troublesome. The system tends to over expose and correct for those (although causes other issues instead!) The O3 system reminds me of how the original system was when it first released, did some really amazing things but there were some kinks. Those kinks eventually got worked out and by the V5/V6 firmware, it was a solid system. I think we need a similar kind of refinement here with the O3. Hopefully be V2/V3 of the software we'll be there.

Ya, felt good seeing DJI finally deliver! Right now the backwards compatibility only works with the Goggles 2. We will have to wait and see how and if this changes in the future.

You know what makes the vista alittle more nice for flying. The way you can see the bottom of the stair case more clearly. The image does look nice i the 03 unit as well. Only thing I just realized was it didn't handle the dark area in tht room

True, the imagine is generally brighter and brighter shadows on the vista.

Thx for the informative vid! I'm waiting on a vista drone to arrive. It's my first caddx vista and am excited. Curious if you still have to go through the dji flysafe approval and all that to "responsibly " fly in those areas like the avata or my mini 2 won't even arm in a restricted area without the fly safe approval.

No, the vista and O3 air units do not have those safety features embedded and will not stop you from arming and flying. You should still look to follow your country's safety guidelines and requirements though.

How is the O3 image quality higher? The colors are more saturated, yes. But this is just sensor settings. It actually makes it harder to see details in darker areas. For example, compare the text on the canister on the shelf in the center. You can hardly see it in the O3 image.

Hey, it's the difference in FOV between the two. The image itself is higher resolution. Email me and I can share some larger jpeg captures so you can zoom in and stuff.

I'm an old school that only had analog for years. Any hd picture is a blessing. Now everyone is being very picky. Crazy. Lol

Can you bind the caddx wth DJI FPV Goggle V2 with FPV remote Controller 2 with Caddx, or only with DJI Goggles 2? I can get the FPV Goggles V2 to work with Caddx but not at the same time with the FPV Remote controller 2, which seems a little dumb of DJI to me..

Tell you what.. i just bound my vistas to my integras and its very similar, if not the same to my v2s. Yes, range may not be identical due to the antenna differences but i think this is more of a use case situation…im satisfied w the results for my needs but still have more penetration testing to do

Same, I've since made the Goggles 2 my only goggles and been using the O3 and Vistas with this setup. More than happy and never ran into an issue with loss of video in my use case.

I'm on the latest firmware but I dont see the option for dji fpv air unit, just the o3 and avata. Any idea what's wrong?

Which goggles? I haven’t upgraded to the Sep 25 firmware as there’s really nothing there in the release notes for non dji drones.

Why wasn’t your osd displayed on your vista but it was on your O3 unit I’m having trouble getting my osd setup with my vista unit ??

You mean the black one or the gray one? Only the gray one works with the O3 or the backwards compatible vista firmware.

Since I can use goggles 2 with caddy vistas, I can't use dpi fav remote 1 but I can use tbs crossfire remote correct?

Correct. Once you upgrade to the firmware that lets you use the Vista with Goggles 2, only the DJI Remote Controller 2 will work. But you can use any other remote with a separate receiver such as a crossfire or ELRS.

I’ve got everything updated and bound, but it will not show up in the receiver tab of beta flight. What am I doing wrong? To clarify, the goggles are bound and work perfect with great video feed the remote controller two is bound, but will not arm the drone and is not seen in beta flight receiver tab..

Ya it works. Check out this video. You don't remap buttons, you leverage the existing buttons to assign modes to it. Same as what we had to do with the fpv controller 1 (black DJI remote): kzread.info/dash/bejne/po2jz9p6krSdhtY.html

No. If you want to use the v2 and the gray remote, you’ll need an o3 air unit. The vista and gray remote only work with the goggles 2 or Integra.

With the backwards compatibility firmware (Dec 8th), you need to manually start the recording each time. There isn't yet an automatic "record on take off" option. Pull down the top menu on the Goggles 2 and press the record icon.

You're referring to the backwards compatibility firmware shown in this video correct? Backwards compatibility is the firmware that makes the vista work with the Goggles 2 / Goggles Integra. If so, yes, you can use the FPV Controller 2 (Gray remote) instead of a separate standalone controller like a Crossfire/ELRS.

I have the goggles 2 which for now seem to have the most options and the Grey remote controller. I just ordered the black dji fpv remote waiting for it to come in the mail. For a drone that I want to get that has caddx Vista. Now I am thinking I could have gotten the Grey one to work with it. Oh well picked it up half price 🙄. Hey it will save me from having to rebinding the remote when I switch drones.

I like the black remote way more but it is end of life, very unfortunate. I've since switched over to an independent control link with crossfire and elrs.

Correct not at this time. The backwards compatibility firmware that works with the controller 2 only works with the goggles 2. Perhaps in the future.

@@Mangorille thank you so much for the reply. I just tried the same app on a windows Pc Vs the Mac. The PC version recognized the controller and I was able to update it. Just flew for the first time and wow. I was able to sit in my living room and fly around my house with no signal interruption and full strength on the OSD

Sorry to hear that, I just updated a Vista using the same software an hour ago and it worked. Perhaps try getting the latest DJI Assistant 2 (DJI FPV series) from DJI's site.

I have no Osd from the drone like I did b4. The only thing showing is the dji osd. How do I fix that? Also how do I bond to the v2 remote. Mine is not binding when pressing the bind button on the vista. Remote just beeps. Thanks for your help

The firmware that makes the vista work with the FPV Controller 2 currently only works with the Goggles 2. Only the O3 can the Goggles V2 and RC2.

Old air units and vistas. You lose the onboard recording with the old full size air unit though. Goggle DVR only.

@@Mangorille in settings I have only camera option, no advanced settings. And when I enter the camera it has record with googles and that option is not even active. Recording button is working on my dji remote, but no auto recording option in the goggles 😮‍💨

You mean the file hack that forces it into FCC mode? If so, yes, it works and you can use the ham file, similar to what works with the O3 and Avata.

Hey guys has anyone managed to get the DJI FPV controller 2 with the cadex vista. I cant get it to bind. With the googles 2 yes it works but when i go to bind with the controller i cant seem to get it to bind and at the same time i lose connection/bind with the googles 2

I don't notice much of a difference for the type of flying I do. I also tried the O3 system in the low latency mode (4k/100fps) and still felt the same for my old eyes/fingers.

What if you have multiple vistas, do you need to rebind to each when you change on goggles and remote? Thanks

Haven't tried on multiple vistas but the Remote Controller 2 seems like it will need to be re-binded. My experience has been that it seems like it can only bind to one device at a time.

Do you see the RC signal indicated on your goggle DVR? If so, it sounds like perhaps you didn't align the protocols between what you setup in the goggles and what you have in Betaflight. I.e. are you using SBUS Baud Fast or not

Getting a betaflight 4.4 warning vtx table has not been set up correctly and without it vtx control will not be possible. Using DJI goggles 2 with updated caddx firmware for compatibility. Only getting a max of 5-7mbps output from vtx. Any ideas or solutions?

The VTX output tables do not apply to DJI. You can even remove that option in your cloud build. When you’re getting that low mbps, is the quad armed and how far away are you?

It works, I've tested it out. Assuming you've upgraded all the firmware including the remote controller 2... Are you sure you are using the same controller protocol in Betaflight as setup in the Goggles 2? You have an option to use regular mode or SBUS Baud Fast. Make sure you are using the same in both otherwise it will do what you're seeing.

Correct, but you can no longer use it with the Goggles V1/V2 or the Black DJI remote. You can always downgrade but DJI has drawn a line in the sand here on how they are treating the old generation air units.

@@MrEdoben Still an issue. The Goggles V2 will lose the binding when you switch between the Vista and O3 even on the latest firmware. You will need to rebind both each time you switch.

Joshua Bardwell has a guide on this but it's fairly straight forward. Put the Goggles 2 into the FPV System mode (use the switch mode option in the menu), press the bind button inside the goggles in between the two lenses (it will start beeping), power on the vista and press the bind button.

@@coptercowboyquadcopter1474 You want the instructions for something called MSP Canvas Mode. I've got a video on my channel on how to set it up. It should record in the video as long as you turn on that setting in the goggle menu. The Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra support embedding the OSD into the goggle recording.

My v2 controller still doesn't work with vista.

No, there's a record on take off option in the settings you can activate. With this option on, the recording happens automatically once you arm and stops once you disarm. I'm away from the goggles but let me know if you can't find it and I'll check exactly where it is.

@@crank_FPV Usually that is caused by having a different protocol setup in Betaflight vs. in the Goggles. Check the Control section of the goggles configuration to make sure it matches what you have done in Betaflight. As in if you are using SBUS Baud Fast in the goggles setup, make sure you have Betaflight setup the same.

You don't need to use DJI Assistant 2 (FPV) ever again. In fact, DJI is expecting everyone to simply use (Consumer) for all of their drones and systems going forward.

I updated my v2 goggles to 607 version by accident,being very new to this I did not know u cudnt roll back to version 606 so now that the goggles are on that firmware my drone that has the vista lite in it does connect and work but wat did I lose? They are not on the exact same version firmware.and the vista lite skips firmware version 607 for some reason it goes from 606 -608 hmmmm so wierd

Main thing is if you want to root the goggles and use the WTFOS but you can use the instructions in the link here to go back to 607. I did the same as you and was able to use this to go back and root: github.com/fpv-wtf/butter

You mean you are trying to record the DVR on the goggles and it is not working? The firmware does not currently have auto record on take off so you'll need to manually go into the menu and record each time currently.

Are you sure? The O3 you are correct but I understood that the Vista will go to full power if you turn off the temp control. Bardwell said the same thing on one of his latest live streams.

@@Mangorille I am sure my vistas all go straight to 50 upon arm. Sit at low mbps in low power mode prior to arm. Temp control shuts down unit before arming if it over heats is all it’s for.

@@noisy_boi_fpv_3920 What I have noticed: O3: Will not go into full power until armed even when the low power mode is off. With the low power mode off it goes to 50mbps but does not go to full power. Vista: Will go to full power and 50mpbs when auto temp control is off.

How to bind vista with new dji goggles 2?

You need to get the latest vista firmware and latest goggles 2 firmware then press the bind button on both when in the O3 mode on the Goggles 2.

@@matinik_fpv WTFOS is not applicable to the Goggles 2. It only works with the Goggles V1 and V2.

The old air unit goes to 50 mb as soon as you arm on new update

I have it set to non low power mode and it is still not going to 50mbps, gets very close but not exactly 50.

Been trying to bind my Goggles 2 to my vista air unit lite but keep getting connection failed. I used dji assistant 2 consumer drone series v2.1.15. Now tried downgrading and getting error. This whole thing is a mess it’s so buggy.

Only thing I did differently than you was use the DJI Assistant 2 (DJI FPV series) to update the Vista. Worked fine. I was also able to downgrade without problem. What error you getting?

@@Mangorille originally I tried with the fpv assistant but that didn’t work so I tried the newer assistant 2 consumer version. I’m only getting an error when downgrading which I’m not concerned about. I just can’t bind them. Keep getting connection failed. If no one else is seeing this issue then I assume it’s my computer but I don’t see how that’s possible. I uninstalled and reinstalled all the assistant softwares on my computer but still no luck.

@@hobbyxplorer Very strange, I haven't had issues updating in my 3 years with the DJI system except maybe once last year.

@@Mangorille I was able to update I just can’t bind the goggles to the air unit. There should be an another update with bug fixes soon.

finally bit the bullet and ordered a DJI FPV COMBO as currently on offer here in the UK for £899 I thought this way I get the FPV GOGGLES V2 which I could use on a fpv drone I build with the Caddx or air unit and essentially have the FPV DRONE for only £250 as I would need the goggles for other projects anyway. I was looking at building a smaller drone with the Caddx vista or DJI AIR unit. But I am very confused with the new update for the firmware on the Caddx vista and air unit So currently I can use my goggles V2 with the Caddx vista or air unit but if I was to do the firmware updates I will be to use the controller V2 but I will no longer be able to use the DJI FPV GOGGLES V2 :( I can only assume the goggles v2 will need the update when I get them so then I will no longer be able to use the goggles with any other FPV drone via the Caddx unit or air unit Hope this makes sense and maybe you can correct me or not. If this is the case maybe I cancel the FPV COMBO order as I won’t be able to use any of it for anything else now?!

You are correct, very confusing state that we're in right now. The backwards compatibility firmware that you're referring to only supports the Goggles 2. I've moved away from the FPV Controller 2 myself as a result. kzread.info/dash/bejne/g4akqpWcaaqTiZc.html

@@Mangorille so in short I can keep the fpv combo with controller 2 and fpv goggle v2 but keep older firmware on both and the only digital vtx I can use on building a drone that will support both will be the air unit also on old firmware 😂😂

@@bozzyxx6028 You're not going to be able to get that combination of parts working with a vista right now. You'd need to wait and see what DJI does with the Vista and Goggles V2 or just invest in a separate quality controller for the vista like a Crossfire or ExpressLRS.
