    I don’t use the double tap on the side of the goggles for pass-thru viewing, I double side click the side rotary switch the you use to select the acro choices. Not many folks talk about that feature. I forget where I heard it once before. Never good luck with the goggle double-tap…much easier finding the side button.

    I love your channel and the way you explain! very well done! I just bought an DJI Avata 2 but learned that only in U.S., Canada, EU countries, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Mainland China - DJI Care refresh is available.

    Hey! I'm glad you like the channel! Yeah it's a bit of a bummer that its now available everywhere but they need to rely on a fast reliable postal service and having service centres in the locations that they offer it. So it makes sense but it's not ideal, even for me buying the Avata 2 in Indoneais, no coevrage here so I have to be prepared to buy another if I have a bad accident. Just a risk I've had to accept.

    Hey! That's exciting, I'm glad you are exploring the world of FPV! You don't actaully need to do a calibration of these things out of the box. The drones come calibrated from factory and will only require additional calibration if you get a message saying so in the goggles. Otherwise, no calibration is required. It is good practice to calibrate everything first, but the reason no one is mentioning it, is because it simply is necessary. Hope this helps 😃

    Great advice, would just say if you don't plan on editing footage don't use dlog to have a ready to go colour profile and iso limit may need to be increased when flying in darker conditions but worth always setting to the lowest acceptable value. And then there is always the upgrade to using ND filters to get nice motion blur with 180° Rule (double shutter speed Vs frame rate).

  • @JustinBainbridgeYT

    @JustinBainbridgeYT

    2 ай бұрын

    Yep very good point! If you dont want to do much editing then just use the nrmal colour profile. I just dont think the normal profile looks very nice but I have that point covered in a future video and also a video on ND filters coming either today or tomorrow! 😃

    Great video as always! I wonder if youve compared Rocksteady ON for Wide and Ultrawide? In my tests they look the exact same in the 4:3 aspect ratio. With Rocksteady ON in 16:9, Ultrawide has a greater FOV than the Wide view but of course its got that squished vertical appearance to it. With Rocksteady disabled, of course all Camera FOV views have their own unique size and shape to them as you would expect. Though its interesting that your Goggles view consistently stays in the Wide view no matter what you do with the Camera FOV. Wish that would reflect accordingly. I just found it surprising that 4:3 had the exact same look for Wide and Ultra when Rocksteady was enabled.

  • @JustinBainbridgeYT

    @JustinBainbridgeYT

    2 ай бұрын

    I haven't tested this at depth, I think I saw your post on facebook showing the comparisons and thought it was odd, but it could just be bacause the drone is sat there waiting. It's likely during flight that wide gets cropped in further when the drone is moving. If not that's a shame because you can't post stabilise ultrawide footage. Yeah the goggles stay consistent though all the FOV. I like this because it gives you a consistent feeling of depth perception.

  • @jasonzdora

    @jasonzdora

    @@JustinBainbridgeYT Good point. Might be harder for me to test this with the drone in flight with the slight movements. I just made another post showing a superimposed view of exactly how much is being cropped from Wide and Ultrawide. Its drastically different. Hence the results where Rocksteady looks the exact same in both Camera FOVs.

    Regarding Color Profile app conversion (5:50 on time line) How does one open a .cube file? Also- I hear a lot about LUTs. How do we apply these?

  • @JustinBainbridgeYT

    2 ай бұрын

    Sure thing, you have 2 options, either save the .cube file somewhere you can find it easily. Then when you're doing your colour grading just click browse and select the lut file. Otherwise you can actaully put the .cube file into the Program files. It's different dependign on which software and OS you are using. Just search how to add a lut to my video editing library. (input the appropriate editing software and OS) and you should find some useful material on how to do it 😃

    Hey! In reality, you're going to get around 15 minutes of flying before you should be landing, but that's plenty, to be honest. My other FPV drones fly for between 4-7 minutes unless I use my long-range battery. Then I can get around 15 mins, but that's a long time to be in the goggles and I think the flight time on the Avata 2 is more than enough. They way you fly it lends itself to a shorter flight anyway

    Does the Avata 2 NEED a phone to fly ? How does Remote ID work ?

  • @JustinBainbridgeYT

    @JustinBainbridgeYT

    Nope, doesn't need a phone to work. Remote ID is broadcasted by the goggles and the drone. It doesn't require a phone. The original Avata needed a phone because the goggles 2 didn't have a GPS chip in them. The goggles 3 now have a GPS chip so they don't need to piggyback GPS from the phone 😃
