Great Solution! BUT... Everyone has been sleeping on the Samson Expedition Rechargeable Series. I've had the 6" for over a year and its great, but I needed more volume for larger ceremonies over 60 people. They just released a 10" and 12" version. I have the 10" and it's loud with great sound quality. It provides 10+ hours of batter life. It's bluetooth enabled. Plus it has a wireless mic built in with the option to expand to 3 mics. 300ft range on the built in mic. The only gripe I have is that the mixer is on the top of the speaker. So... if you have it on a speaker stand you've got to be 6ft tall to reach and adjust the volume knobs by touch. www.samsontech.com/samson/products/portable-pa/expedition-rechargable/

Great video! Like your ideas. We have 8 Senhiesser LSP battery wireless speakers we occasionally use for smaller, corporate stuff and speeches. They are awesome because you can do a huge space and set delays in each one if needed. Also, the fact you can run them wireless without any xlr is awesome too. They are definitely not the loudest by any means, but sometimes the client will prefer the aesthetic over sound.

Thank you John Simmons for giving me the answer to a question that I hadn't quite properly asked. Been looking for a battery powered speaker solution that didn't require me to be stuck to an all in one battery powered system, that might not have the sound quality or build quality that I wanted, WITHOUT having to spend a ton of money on. Hadn't realized that they made these units in that size WITH an AC receptacle built in. THANKS!!!

Thanks for the video! I saw that BSR video that you mentioned & it got me shopping around on amazon. The battery he mentioned looked like a decent power source for a small mixer and wireless mics reciever, but that's about it. I'm with you on not wanting to drop more $ on a battery powered speaker when I've already got sooo many in my garage.. Anyway, I shopped around and stumbled on the bolt as well. Had the highest mah rating I could find and a lot of reviews said they actually used it successfully to jump their car! It's been sitting in my saved for later items because I wasn't sure how effective it'd be for powering a speaker, but this video may have sold me on it. I don't know how often I'll use it, but it sounds like a great backup to have in a pinch. Whether it's at the gig or on the way to it!

You could also build your own battery system. You can take an old flight case or rack and get a couple 12 volt car batteries, put them in parallel and get a 1000 watt or 2000 watt inverter, just make sure its a pure sin wave and not modified, because you could destroy your equipment with a modified sin wave inverter and you are pretty much set. If you want it to look really nice though I would suggest the rack method, because then you can make a custom front panel where you can have a few outlets you wire into the inverter and maybe some breakers and a charge port, and you can use a normal lead acid 12 volt battery charger.

John, I landed on your channel for a DMX tutorial a few hours ago and I've been watching all your vids since. I totally love the way you communicate, and the way you treat your people. The paycheck segment for your young guy was great. Question: For your extended off-shore power gigs, why not consider a deep cell battery? Or two? The Bolt is amazing, but its only 58 amps. One single deep cycle battery can provide 125 amps. My solar security lighting is 250 amps. And you can take a huge amount of power out without cooking it.

For those who have a battery powered speaker already, (like myself) but need to power up other equipment, (mixer and/or mic system, etc.) I highly recommend you check out the Lithium-Ion Power Supply over at Colorado Sound N' Light. This power supply has 3-12v Dc Power jacks, so it's perfect to power your mic system & Mixer. Only $99 before shipping! Works amazing!

Dj Gary, I actually emailed Jim over at Colorado Sound N Light and his email back when I said powering up speakers was The Halo Bolt. This gave me another idea. I planned to put a dual usb in the battery powered pa but decided on a car cig adapter to give me more flexibility so I did yesterday and now I have the option of usb for cell phones or dc/ac in Power Inverter Car Adapter DC 12V to AC 110V with 4.2A Dual Smart USB Ports.

man that's a great test. If you are going to do simple speech and some background music should go much longer. especially if you high pass the speaker super high like 150 200 hertz you will consume so much less power. I think one of those would be a great purchase for me for the same use. Thanks for sharing

You should anyway bringing your own cocktail table. Since years ago, I don’t want to bother the venue or anybody to provide me with tables, cloths, etc. And It saves lot’s of time. This setup with the laptop shelf on the speaker stand is nice for cocktail but I would not use it for ceremony as most of thé time, you can’t stand next to the speaker. So I would always place myself, mics and mixer on the side to make sure that the photographer don’t catch me on his pics.

I switched to a small powered PA mixer with speakers. It powered that, a mic and a Yamaha mixer for almost 2 hours. Debating on a return.

Hello all, I am not the most knowledgable about things but I research a lot before I make a purchase. While studying up on this product I found out that the marketing that the company does for this product is a little misleading. The product for most seems to be a 58,000+ Mah power bank; however it isn’t. They have actually placed the proper amount in plain sight ... it is a 58,000+ Mwh power bank that if converted to Mah would actually be a less than 18,000 Mah power bank ( which I already have a bunch of those around my home ). I will admit this product does have interesting features but still tries to fool you with actually how much power it holds. This is not at all a hit or dis on John; I absolutely love this guy, what he does, and the content he puts out. I just wanted to make sure all were informed properly. Keep doing what your doing. You keep putting stuff out and I’ll keep watching.
