You think that Life was easy in 2003? You should try The 1980's and The 1990's. It was even easier back then. This is before The Whole World fell apart, especially our United States Of America. I served this country called America. I gave most of my adult Life for it. Believe me, there was a lot more Freedom back in The 1980's and The 1990's. I have No Faith in Humanity anymore looking at The World Today. It is not The World that sucks Today, it is most of the people. No respect anymore, common sense. Things were easier back then. The Generations Today and The Future Generations will never know what Real Freedom was back then. You want Freedom Today, You have to fight for it and take it. This is a Good song to fire up the motorcycle and go for a ride at Night

So I know all too well how it all went to sh*t, and all went downhill.... in 2000. But 2003 was a much easier time than the times we're in now. Especially as a 16 year old with not a care in the world. But yeah - I can relate to what you're saying ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. I remember sitting alone fresh out of hospital at the end of my senior year of high school. They would let me graduate despite missing most of the year. I felt so lost. All structure in my life was gone, but I still had my friends, dog and family. I kept playing this song despite hating it during its radio play the year prior. I am now more alone than ever. My parents and dog are gone and my brother lives on the opposite side of the country. This song fills me with nostalgia, a painful sorrow that feels right.

Use that pure feeling of nostalgia to your advantage. Activate it when you are in the gym or facing hard tasks! It will give you power because it tells you that you have already been through some stuff that made you stronger

While I enjoy Don Henley's original & The Ataris' cover this version of the song is just so much better, in my opinion. Loona's vocals + the electronic "trance" tune just fit in nicely together. Not to mention that it doesn't hurt that Loona's a pretty lady. ^_^

LOL, I was thinking the opposite that I'll get slaughtered here if I say Loona really doesn't have the singing voice to make these lyrics work emotionally. There's an almost unplugged version Henley did on Live on the Howard Stern Show which is a great peak at where his head was when he wrote the words.

Nobody on the road Nobody on the beach I feel it in the air The summer's out of reach Empty lake, empty streets The sun goes down alone I'm driving by your house Though I know you're not home But I can see you Your brown skin shining in the sun You got your hair combed back and sunglasses on, baby And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong After the boys of summer have gone I never will forget those nights I wonder if it was a dream? Remember how you made me crazy? Remember how I made you scream No, I don't understand what happened to our love But babe, I'm gonna get you back I'm gonna show you what I'm made of I can see you Your brown skin shining in the sun I see you walkin' real slow and you're smilin' at everyone And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong After the boys of summer have gone Out on the road today, I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac A little voice inside my head said "Don't look back. You can never look back" I thought I knew what love was What did I know? Those days are gone forever I should just let them go, but I can see you Your brown skin shining in the sun You got that hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby And I can tell you, my love for you will still be strong After the boys of summer have gone And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong After the boys of summer have gone

I grew up as phones went from 2kg brick to the tiny Nokia 5110, they wasn't important.. it was when you agreed to meet up and wait the 30mins or so incase they were late and couldn't tell you.. it was a brilliant time before smart phones and the obsessions people have with their phoned today. Sometimes I do think it would be so better if they were to disappear in to a black hole so we could connect proper again ... *Sigh*.. bring back the 80s/90s
