Exactly. He could've taken the easy route and created music similar to the BTS sound, but he was true to himself, and I'm sure he evaluated the risks, but that's why he is extraordinaire. In the most recent Suchwita, Yongi said the staff was moved by how he was the most honest of all the guests. I love the guy; he is not only beautiful inside and out but talented and genuine.

I always felt out of all the BTS members V was best served by a live band. He has a warm, intimate sound that needs real instruments behind him. He is also someone that lights up when performing live.

Actually V said this album is his introduction himself to world. Who he is, what he loves n what genre closed to his heart. He learn n sharpen his skill, he already loves, jazz, blues, rnb frm his younger age. In this solo era, he finally got the chance to do music that he loves. His next album is gonna be big difference frm this one. Stay tune for it. LAYOVER as the words itself is laid back n so calming full of soul.

You must check out his freestyle, fluid dance performance, which perfectly matches ‘Slow dancing’. What a genius move. He is just soooo good-- and a stunningly beautiful human, inside and out!

The real fact about V is though…as we all know and have seen already, he totally can do ‘other songs and genre’ really well if he wanted. For example, if ‘Gangnam style’ was given to him, he would have done it and topped the charts easily. As we’ve seen him in ‘Dynamite’, he can do swaggy, charisma, funk, high tone, low tone, dance, hiphop and constantly charming even non-fans away. He can do ‘everything’. I do think his voice range is very versatile, and the grit in his voice, low high, vibrations, Ballards, he can do’em all. It’s just that, V was a bit put aside it seemed like from the beginning I feel. He wasn’t taken seriously and had a nickname like ‘alien’, etc… I am SO glad some experts DO recognize his real talents after he put out this album. Thank God! I wish he wins Grammy for this or something. He went through so much internally I feel. Poor V…can you imagine how he would have been feeling all this time? The pace he had to follow and go with what BTS has been putting out…it’s amazing he didn’t go crazy and am still living, given the path he walked so far in that insane world of BTS and kpop, and all this music industry craze, when I think about it. This was his true pace and love. I also remember he was cut quite often when he tried to talk or voice his opinion in the past, whether it was for Run BTS episodes or shows or even talking among members, etc…he is that guy, who has 0 aggressiveness, just pure soul. But for that he could be put in the most vulnerable position. And those horrible anties, haters in Korea and other world.. But I see more peaceful, happier Taehyung these days. Taehyung, you did a really great job on yourself!! And you WON! A true winner in life! Let’s hope ONLY the Best for him in his future, and support, protect him as much as we can! Tae Tae, you are the most shining gem!

I am loving FOR US so much, it just hits. That flute in Slow dancing is really nice and a good kind of surprise. I have always loved flute sounds as I am an Indian and Indian music always uses flutes extremely well. My top three are For Us , Slow Dancing and LMA But I like Rainy Days and Blue too. I like that it is a visual album as well, he is giving us aesthetics to along with each track and I am always happy to see his face 😂 Overall such a solid album cohesive yet each song is so special on it own,so proud of him 🥹 Also one more thing I wanna add is that I am super proud of him for doing what he likes. It''s not easy to take the route he took while he is coming out as a solo artist out of a band like BTS. He really had the strong conviction to do the kind of music he wanted to do.

When you just want to see the album commentary but have to scroll through hours of personal Jino nonsense though 😅 edit: 1. I make a teasing comment (not trying to be offensive) 2. HIGHLY weird people get MAD and come trying to give me ~life lessons~ 3. I say I didn't mean none of that but they keep on with their sermon 4. I ignore everything that they say and they're still mad and trying to lecture Like, wtf I think Jino really should do something about the comment section in his videos because I noticed how it's always full of fights. If it's not the solo stans insulting EVERY BTS member, then it's some people who apparently are ready to start an argument over anything. This album sits so well. It is cohesive and comfortingly cozy like Tae. I like how honest, mellow, authentic and genuine it is. Loving it. I never like too much when artists start to "experiment" or shock out of the blue ( no pun intended, lol) for the sake of shocking or just to prove they can. It strips away from their authenticity and make me disconnect immediately. Why people love music and are loyal to their artists is because they have skill and talent but also because they can connect. Taehyung has done an amazing job. My fave on the album is Slow Dancing. I am so entranced with this song, I do not even need a MV for it. It is crazily atmospheric and evocative of times long lost ( to me at least). I just close my eyes and sultry vibe of it transports me right into 80´s - an autumn day in NYc, sun is shining, people strolling around in beautiful leisure clothing full of class, cashmere jumpers, high waist tweed trousers, intoxicating perfumes heavy with aldehydes and opulence, era of stunning Gia Carangi, dry martini in cocktail glasses, smoky eye shadows ... and this music playing in the background. Big love.

Your Cat is beautiful!!! Love V and this album is reminiscent of my youth in the 80s with R&B music. As a Black woman in NYC - Tae's album is so cool and brings back wonderful memories of being young and loving life and experiencing love and full of dreams and promise!! I am recommending this to my non-ARMY friends to get them into BTS via Tae's R&B/soul tracks!!! Love the flute in Slow Dancing - very cool, smooth song ​Fav still Love me Again and Rainy Days but digging For Us and Blue. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

“For Us” makes me emotional and the piano playing in the 2nd half of the song makes me cry…. Gentle tears… I totally agreed with Jino! I am glad that V did not go with the classical jazz or R&B style because it takes a lot of efforts and time to do that. But V still incorporates all the musical styles he loves in this album and makes it as “V” version of the styles! So genuine and authentic! I am a classical trained musician and have been exposed in the jazz music environment enough. V really did well! The more I listen to his album, I can see “V”, the Peter Pan, who loves simplicity and is genuinely shy (and handsome). 💜💜💜💜💜

BTS Army did not appreciate V because his vocals were dumbed down for the vocal line in BTS. In his slbum we have the real V and what he is capable of . Is it appreciated..i think still not. Reactors cognizant of what V's album and music mean in the current music scene not only kpop can hrlp educate the masses who are lost in pop songs.

Slow dancing is so beautiful.. here in south India we brought up hearing songs enriched with flute and violin which is both classical and modern so the last instrumental portion was so familiar for me. The Album is also great. Congratz Tae💜🎉

As fans of Tae we have ALWAYS known he was capable of this type of music. We also knew that the company couldn’t deliver it as the PD prefers tenors. Tae had to go outside of his own label to get this album and concept delivered. We have waited for this and, in my opinion, felt his capability is wasted in bts as their music of late is geared more towards pop and for the tenors. All members have talent and capability but the company has their favs that they focus on. Tae mentioned that the album is called ‘layover’ as it’s a stop in a journey and not the final destination. He said it reflects his plan to do several albums trying out different styles until he reaches his final goal (destination) with the sound he wants to express with his music. This album is to show us his real musical tastes as Kim Taehyung and not bts v. Tae says it’s an album we should listen to on the road, when we get back from work, at sunset to chill, de-stress and relax. His aim is not billboard charts, but to put out authentic music that reflects a part of him as a person. Tae’s music is for the connoisseurs of fine music and this album is a timeless classics, the more you listen to them, the better they keep sounding. Love that Tae said no no to the mainstream pop music, chart positions and didn’t follow that band waggon and said nope, I’m gonna give you my own genre. By the way Tae always had soul, Iris Stevenson the gospel queen told us in the American hustle life, but bts don’t do soulful music so people couldn’t here it. Also he started writing music and as a newbie was writing music similar to the pop the other members were putting out. Tae’s musical style doesn’t fit kpop or the pop genre so he needs to work with songwriters outside of the big hit pool of songwriters/ producers.

The sound of "Slow Dancing" that sounds kind of a flute is a QUENA, it is a Peruvian instrument made of bamboo tree.

That sound you don't recognise seems to be a panpipe, we call it zampoña in Perú, it's a wind instrument very used in folk music.

I like V’s album concept. Sincere is the best adjective I could think of to describe it. I especially enjoyed slow dancing & rainy days more compared to the other tracks. Blue unfortunately is not to my taste.

Honestly no one but TAE could have sur . Being a hidden, positionless member always has the least amount of screen space and dialogue. All of his solo projects were treated poorly by Bighit and Hybe. He manages to thrive despite all of this and will continue to do so. The solo songs in V's album become more addictive the more you listen to them

I was worried at the beginning that you were dissing Tae, it was disappointing because I thought you would appreciate his music more, you were kind of I can’t really be bothered with this, then as you went on and listened to more you fell into the music. I was so relieved, it mattered, I’m not sure why, I guess I thought you would get Tae, more than other reactors do. Thank heavens you finally got him. Totally not my favorite genre of music but I appreciate Tae's vocals/talent. It wasn't a surprise to me; totally his style. I would have been shocked if he put out a pop album. He's been working on this album for a decade...he's worked/reworked/reworked again & again. He held off putting it out til now...until he's satisfied with it (not anyone else, just him).

He said that he slated his self written songs because they are stylistically different from what he wanted to put out as a soloist for his first album. It not like we don't know that he is a great song writer from the snippets we have heard. Does not change the fact that LAYOVER is an incredible album. He might release them in the future.
