I don't care if this song sounds kidish ... what's important is the purpose, is a message given by video itself ... the voice and a melody are supported by the pictures of their memories and vv ... it's a gift to Army like a love letter to a loved person ... very personal for everybody who loves and supports BTS for years ... The funny thing about Jimin's songs to me is, the more you hear them the more addictive they become. I can’t believe you guys are sitting here picking this song apart. So many pick me’s in the chat, it’s embarrassing. I understand standard releases, of course, go ahead and critique, I mean it’s a reaction…..but come on, have some tact. It’s a gift, it’s appreciated for what it is. Everyone has a right to give an opinion, but you also don’t always have to. You wouldn’t go and tell a mother their child is ugly would you, even if you think it right? Or sort of cute? That’s you having tact and holding back on unnecessary opinions. Imagine someone irl that’s so dear to you, so special, they gift you something and you come on here criticizing the wrapping and the gift itself. What would the general public’s opinion be on you doing that? I guarantee you’d never right? That’s what this feel like, so why is it okay to do it with any gift we receive from the guys? Idk, I’ve been a follower since the beginning and never really complain but it’s completely unnecessary to sit here and literally critique a gift. We know you have a disability that impairs you from listening to lyrics and music at the same time, but geez it’s apparent that in a song like this the lyrics are special. Idk, it’s just annoying that after years of liking BTS, and really liking Army, at least realize that fan songs should maybe be off limits.

@@friede. idk, that may be your opinion, and I respect it even if I don’t necessarily agree. There’s been other songs where he praises him. Everyone has their taste in music and in voice styles, so that’s not a huge issue to me. Slandering his character is a diff thing and I have yet to see or hear Jino do that. Every member’s solo stans will claims him a hater at one point or another over simple things. What I won’t tolerate is a member’s special gift being criticized, even if it’s in the name of personal taste/opinion. Thinking it is one thing, but it’s rude and unnecessary to voice it. Jimin as a songwriter and when he is given the opportunity to work on his songs always deliver great music. Love this fan song its a good song despite being a "fan song."

I always like your opening song choices-good deejaying! I like the juxtaposition between your attitude and the song’s message itself. It’s anti-sentiment vs. feel good sentimentality. The title “Closer Than This” is not a part of this song and the kids are not a part of your sensibilities. Cute is not my favorite tone, but Jimin is too cute for words. This song and his voice is more soothing than cute.

Jimin's voice is so unique. I dont mind the squeaks it's his style. It's not my favorite either but you know it's him. And he uses it effectively on his songs and bts' ❤

i so agree with the kpop songs you mentioned. it litterally feels like a bunch of songs put together in one. you get confused when you listen to it, and my brain can´t handle it. besides all kpop songs sound the same for the most part. but BTS rarely does that type of songs they also never used other than their label producers and foreign ones for their songs. so no one sound like BTS that is what i love the most. right from the first listen i could hear how deferent they where from the rest and i think that is what drew fans to them. also their dancing and performing skills but mainly the music. their is that red line in the song that never gets broken. they always keep the general feel of the song without changing it to much.

In short, song preferences are inherently self-aware. If they happen to be the type you like, you will basically enjoy it. It seems that Jimin’s tone is not the type that Jino likes, so he will be more picky. From previous experience, Gino is very fond of music. Some of Jimin's songs are not highly rated, but JK & Jhope are Gino's favorites. Of course, there are many people with good timbres, but Jimin’s voice is highly recognizable and has his own unique timbre, which is his personal characteristics. People who appreciate it will like it, while people who don’t appreciate it will be more picky.

I hear you. I personally am picky when it comes to Jimin’s solo songs just because it voice isn’t usually my type of voice I gravitate to. His voice sometimes can be very beautiful and totally for me, but sometimes it isn’t for me…

​​​​​​​@@amberpearce710that's really interesting because personally I am someone who looks for unique voices, I get tired of the generic sounding voices that literally every other artist has, they sound nice for sure but do they get boring, and all of their songs start sounding the same. So artists like Jimin, Jessie reyez, Don Toliver, Frank Ocean, Lorde, Lana del rey, Prince are really up there according to me. Love BTS but there have been way too many instances where Jimin's voice is what made the song for me Film out, dream glow, BS&T and the list goes on. Another interesting thing about Jimin I find is that this man is so versatile with his music, and ig his wide vocal range contribute to that, like every single song he has released sounds so different from each other and are from different genres but you'll know it's a Jimin song. Because of this, I'm almost always surprised in a good way when he releases something. And ofcourse one is not going to like everything an artist puts out, that's just how it is but Jimin is yet to miss out even once with me atleast.

@@stargazing2628 his voice has definitely grown on me. When I first got into BTS Tae and Jin’s voice are what drew me in but Jimin’s, it took me a while to fully appreciate. I am still picky but I definitely have grown to like his voice more. I like unique voice but sometimes I don’t, just depends. I tend to gravitate to voices that I can feel the emotions very well with their voices (aka why Jin’s voice I really gravitate too).

@@amberpearce710 Music is really subjective! I'm the contra of you, while Jimin's voice hit me first when I know BTS, then Jhope, but I still cant relate to Jin's voice till now, mostly his head voice.

I get not everyone likes kiddy type vibes but Jimin likes it so I love it. He’s the one that refers to armys as kids the most anyways so it makes sense he would release those type of fan songs

This makes me feel like its a deliberate response to Love Letters by army, its just SO similar with the font and video, but nothing like a usual BTS vid, its purposeful.

“If I had to criticize something…” You know, you don’t actually have to criticize anything. Maybe try and do a ‘I say only nice things about Jimin’s effort’ challenge’. Just this once…. I mean, don’t strain yourself or anything, but why not try!?

My opinion…Jimin needs to capitalize and highlight his chest vocals more. His tone in the lower register hits harder and more emotional than the higher tones…most likely because we’ve heard him sing way up there so much for 10 years. If they could just change key, lower it 2-3 semitones it would even be more emotionally touching.

Jino, for the record YTC isn't a fan song and you did categorized YTC as a fan song in this livestream lol. You liked YTC! It didn't even reminded you of kids. Maybe you were thinking about THE PLANET (Bastions opening)? I honestly think YTC can't be compared to Closer Than This. They used different harmonies and progressions there too. No kids in YTC plus according to producer reactors, YTC is a beautiful and unique song when compared to other Kpop releases. It has its own lane because it was released in a time when other groups were coming up with edgy and trendy sounds and mvs. PTD is what's comparable to this and THE PLANET. YTC is a homage to a decade, a chapter of them being together in a band and reminiscing what they went through, and reinstating what they stand for, which is music, healing, and hope for people. It pulls my heart strings in a different way.
