Funny enough, 3 of the godfathers of Memphis Rap would produce for NY, Houston and ATL rappers. Carlos '6 July' Brody would go on to produce for NY rappers and other East Coast MCs. T Mix would produce for Suave House (Houston) and Cash Money (New Orleans). Phalon (more commonly known as Jazze Pha) would produce for Suave House (Houston), Cash Money (New Orleans), and late 90s/early 2000s Atlanta artists like Ludacris, Usher, and Ciara. Hell, Phalon's Rising to the Top was distributed by Elektra Records (an LA label) in 1990. So these bigger scenes had help from Memphis.

That makes the it even more impressive. Memphis's isolation from the bigger cities hip hop was booming in helped keep that specific sound they made in M town. It's so ahead of its time its unreal. You can tell someone today these were made today and they'd probably believe you, even do they were made in the 90s
