Even though they obviously rehearsed and and heard each other a million times before actually going on stage, Dizzy Gillespie still looks like he's enjoying himself and the sounds that his band is making, to me that's a beautiful thing!!

HOW CAN YOU SAY THIS! Artruo is one of the best and most musical trumpet players in the world. Just because he has an AMAZING high register and uses it does not mean that he ruins songs. The only person that would say something like this is a woodwind player or a very jealous trumpet player.

I second that. Arturo can play high and fast cause he wants to. Listen to some more of his stuff and hear how beautifully he plays. He has truly dominated and was born for trumpet, real trumpet players would know that and how difficult (physically and mentally) the trumpet is compared to say piano. He is an innovator on the trumpet (and piano partly).
@TheAlejandro6199 жыл бұрын
The funny part about the mouthpiece argument is that he doesn't use a small or shallow mouthpiece. Fun Fact: Arturo uses a 3C mouthpiece with a 27 throat. Also, he prefers his large bore horns.

Arthuro Sandoval is in my opinion the best trumpet player in the world ... There will be no one like him .. with a sound so sweet ..... the style so original ... an enviable technique and interpretation that moves the heart and the most bituminous man ... It is simply God's love for man when you see ...... heard the Arthuro, respect.Pace.

Claudio is great, but Arturo's in another galaxy. I love Dizzy, but featuring him next to Arturo is a major mismatch. Look at how Dizzy looks at him after Arturo destroys that solo. It's almost as if Arturo's somewhat embarrassed to make Dizzy look bad. Great job by Diz by putting these world class talents on the same stage. RIP Diz.

I'm just going to come right out and say it: Arturo Sandoval is a great talent (one of the best trumpet players ever) but he's also a showboat and a ham. Dizzy was obviously on the decline at the point yet Arturo goes on and blows the old man away. He should've shown more respect for the man who went out of his way to help him defect from Cuba.
