    Dizzee was always ahead of everyone’s time back in the day, lyrically his was smart with his words. He didn’t need carrying. Both Wiley and dizzee were just 2 MC’s that were about at the right place right time same times.

    6:50 *DR:* (Wait, you mean a collaboration with Wiley would be big...) FOR ME? (You're saying it would be good...) FOR ME? *TB:* Yeah. *DR:* (Lemme point at my chest just to make sure we're both clear on who we're talking about - you're saying this would be good...) FOR ME? *TB:* Mm-hmm. *DR:* (Blood, I'm Dizzee Rascal, have you forgotten? And you're suggesting I could get bigger by making a tune with Wiley? Are you sure that suggestion was intended...) FOR ME? *TB:* ... *DR:* (Do you get my point? Can you hear the rhetoric in my tone when I ask if that idea is good...) FOR ME? *TB:* Well, what do you reckon? *DR:* (Okay, I can see that you're not joking, that you're actually being serious and that you're not picking up on any of my hints but lemme just ask one more time - are you actually claiming that a collaboration with Wiley would be good...) FOR ME? *TB:* Yeah. *DR:* I dunno. (But if you could take a hint then you'd know I'm thinking HELL NO.)

    I'm reading the comments and I think people need to know how people act. I can look right at Dizzee and see he does not fuck with Wiley and doesn't want to. Him saying he doesn't have a problem. Means he isn't holding anything against anyone or holding people up for stuff. But he knows who's who, and he ain't fxcking with certain people. You can look at him and his body language and see he is trying to be civil at the same time as saying "I'm not down with him like that." It's obvious. His outlook on Wiley goes beyond music. As shown by him "for me?" "and you have to weigh up what big is" when the DJ said it would be big for the culture. He is saying "You strangers/fans, enjoying something that I'd do with someone, whom I'd otherwise never do anything with again (off principle), vs how I feel about that person and doing something with them - no way." Nothing is bigger than a man's principles.

    Completely agree with this 100%! I can relate fully to what dizzee is saying here in terms of not wanting to fuck with a certain someone anymore based on principles but at the same time trying to be grown up about it too! Exactly how I feel personally myself about someone I had to cut off from my life nearly a year ago! If people knew every single little detail as well then boy! But yea it's just too long correcting everyone.

    Twin B is right, Dizzee doesn't realise how big it would be for grime if he and Wiley did something. I hear what Dizzee is saying that he's done well on his ones for a long time, doesn't need anyone else - and it's true. But he's GASSED if he thinks he would have got this big without Wiley and Roll Deep. There's been better and more lyrical kids than Dizzee in the street who never got the kinda leg up in the scene that he got. You might love or hate Wiley, but it's a fact that he's ran grime since day one.

  • @akadapper

    Kronik Where/when does Dizzee say that Wiley helped him? He said Target is the one who cared from early when he was a DJ and that Cage is the one who helped him produce his album. Then he talks about how he's done it on his own from early. Only thing he says is that Wiley brought him into Roll Deep AFTER he made a little name for himself, which is GASSED.

  • @mixit2010

    @mixit2010

    Steven A he said target was aways there befor wiley that means he acknowledged that wiley did also help him;-) but I agree they should do a album together that would be epic for the grime music would mash up the scane an I would name it"true storys";-)

  • @CrowleyHead

    @CrowleyHead

    9 жыл бұрын

    Steven A To be fair, Dizzee used to be in Nasty Crew briefly before he joined Roll Deep. When Wiley brought Dizzee into Roll Deep, Roll Deep had already done records without Dizzee, and Pay As U Go hadn't been declared 'over' yet. You can see Diz in the "Champagne Dance" vid, but he's not in PAUG. So Dizzee's perspective might not be too far from the truth.

    ive been listening to dizz since he was 17 and wiley since he was like 19-20 yeh whenthey were slewing heartless and that lol and too see the progression of him as a person and artist maximum respect to dizz cos he coulda lost his way if he weren't mature about everything, however........... I don't care what any of you man say, what anybody says for that matter, if you grew up with grime like I did youd know that if dizz and wiley made a track together or even an album.... itd be... massive!!!

    Dizzie rascal don't do it for me nowadays when he was underground his music was mad sick. Wileys kept it at that level where he keeps it nice for both underground and mainstream and that's what some artist struggle to do

    you dont get it...dizzee has never once said a word publicly against wiley but wiley has said words against dizzee. now he speaks up why does that offend you? also all he said was he doesnt have a beef with him. 2. u cant force two artists to work together. its called ART for a reason. good art is hard to force!

    it would just be a cool thing, the 2 top mcs from grime doing something together.. doesn't mean dizze isn't big by himself. the guy failed to see the point.. but it seems he will always have some issues with grime.. all we can hope is grime music gains more and more popularity to the point he can;t ignore it anymore.

    True, but I'd say after "Showtime" there was evidence of him prophesying himself selling out in the future. That track "Imagine" was proof but then again more power to him performing to Pop audiences and Hipsters. I started to hate his direction when he did Maths and English and stopped listening to him since but he's doing the best for him right now. I can't stay mad at his successes.

    Get on yours fam! people r real quick to say someone sold out, im ME, if a mc i used to listen to as a child has transformed into a pop star i feel good. Thats a good thing for me coz I remember wt they came from, pitrate radio clashes n that. Dizzee done his bit in grime IMO hes still gt an album i can play today that came out 10 year ago n i can relate to that now as a young man. big up wiley, tinchy, tinie tempah (buss dat cap!) lol, dizzee!

    basically he doesnt really want to work with wiley again, mainly because he thinks he made his own stuff in the first place and wiley had nothing to do with it really and obviously since all the crap that happened in the past whatever that crap was, he doesnt see any reason to work with wiley - cos it was his own music created by him in the first place. thats what he doesnt say
