    Exactly what I was looking for. Most other videos show cutting with table saw which is too expensive for newbie woodworkers.

    I’m just starting this project. Question: If the bottom inside support 2x4’s are 37”, doesn’t the bottom shelf plywood need to be 41”W, not 40”? 37” + the side bottom 2” rails would be 41”. Or am I missing something?

  • @toddkoelmel

    @toddkoelmel

    3 жыл бұрын

    2x4s are actually 1.5" x 3.5" when they are dried and put out for sale - so 37" long cross piece + (2)1.5" would be 40". 4x4s are actually 3.5" x 3.5" as well.

    I have watched soooo many of these videos and everyone always just say a sheet of plywood..........there are soooo many different plywoods and i have taken more time trying to figure out what kind of plywood to get, I probably would be done with the whole build

  • @toddkoelmel

    Just a smooth 3/4" thick 4'x8' sheet of plywood - something like birch or maple or even sanded pine would be fine. A construction grade 3/4" CDX would work also but the bad off gas of fumes would be pretty bad for a while.
