DIY Window Bar Installation Tutorial Quick & Easy NO WELDING! Increase Home Security [Window Bars]

Buy me a coffee? www.buymeacoff... Buy me a coffee? www.buymeacoff... Forgetting standard house maintenance items can be costly. Avoid this by using my homeowner's and renter's quick reference:
www.diy-techni... DIY How2 install window bars without doing any welding. All you need is a drill and drill bit (preferable auger bit) to quickly and easily install these. If you want to custom cut your rebar lengths you can either use a metal cutting saw, hack saw, or hand held angle grinder (this is what I used). I chose to paint these ones black but not mandatory. I cemented them in as well using come construction adhesive I had laying around but there are many types of cement you can use to secure them into the holes once installed. Super easy to do!

Here's the video transcripts:
Okay so I've got some math to do 69 and a half inches along here okay I'm going to do these five inches apart just shy of five inches and then I'm gonna go on the center since this is three and a half here I'm gonna go one and three quarters here for Center one and three quarters that's the halfway pass that's my first spot I'm gonna drill I'm gonna do the same thing for the overhead so I've got half inch rebar so I need to drill it out just a little bit bigger know what the rebar is so I'm gonna use a 5 8.
still going to do 36 so I made a mark right there at the 36. I'm going to cut it off with that
okay got this cut to 36 inches go ahead and Slide the top in first
foreign
getting a bunch of them cut to 36 inch links
I don't have time to go give them a coat of paint
I pulled them all out to paint them now I'm going to go ahead and install them in the window
thank you
okay now I'm going to lock those bars into the uh the wood and I've got this Loctite construction adhesive I just had this laying around so I'm going to use it I've got about three quarters of a tube left that should do the trick okay I'm just going to lift this out kind of set it to the side if I can
open up that surface too bad that one's kind of a tight fit squirt a little bit of that down into the hole
and I'll just take a cloth and wipe off around there all right that's it you guys thanks for watching please do like and subscribe thanks a lot

Our house has been broken into twice and we have cameras and a security system. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I am a veteran and do my own business as a handyman. Didn't think about how simple this would be. Thanks man.

In South America, they circumvent these style security bars by putting a small floor jack in-between them and jacking them wide open.

@DIYTechnician No doubt! I'm fairly new to the prepping community but with everything happening in this country right now - my intuitions tell me that some fortification would do wonders to appease my anxiety as it relates to the family you know? This was absolutely brilliant. Thanks again man. 🤙

I like the idea. If these are installed in the bedroom, how will you get out easily if there is a fire blocking the door? I’m thinking about building a frame with rebar that can be removed from the inside.

Your idea for your scenario sounds like it would be safer. This window is not meant for escape. You can’t see it in the video but there are easier safer ways to escape the area where these were put. So, you are correct, would be best to install something easily removable from the inside. Take care!

@@DIYTechnicianit does block a fire exit. that is something to consider as with all safety protocols. I like the no glue idea. the bedrooms in my house I'll have two windows and I can glue one and leave the other one unglued...? there's always a lot to consider but this is a great.
