(Home Depot) Wood :
(3) 12 FT 1"x4" Common Board cut into (4) 36" pieces = (12) 36" pieces.
(1) 12 FT 1"x4" Common Board cut in half to 60" match length of full size headboard. (Increase length if you headboard is larger)
(2) 2"X2" Post Beams to match the desired height of your headboard. (Make sure your fabric covered bolsters are not shorter than the height of the headboard. You want them to go past the back of the bed so there is no gap.

Hi! I am planning on doing this for my king size bed- what length bolsters did you buy? How wide is your headboard? Trying to figure out how much more wood I would need!

Omg Abbey!! I’m so excited to hear this. I used the 5” Diameter bolsters. You can totally go up or down depending on the look you want. I would love to see the final look 🙌🏻😊

Thanks! Yes, absolutely Kelly! It doesn’t show so I didn’t take that extra step but if you want it to feel finished, this would be great to do.
Please explain how you kept the head board up? Did you nail to wall ?

We did not! We just pushed it up against the wall with the bed. We are renting so didn’t want to make anything permanent. You can definitely fix it to the wall

400 too high..might as well buy pre-made headboard, you can do it for much cheaper

open to any ideas on making it cheaper! The foam is definitely pricey and I decided to go for quality fabric, but I’m sure there are ways to save on this project.
