Upgraded my exposure light to an LED and dropped my time down to 15sec with less than $50.
This video is to show how you can get started with simple ways to make screen printing work for you.

    I like how your setup is so simple. Everyone seems to freak out about having darkroom conditions and all that. You're just keeping out of direct sunlight and everything is cool. Makes it less intimidating.

    Yes in the beginning it was very very intimidating so I started playing around more to see how far I could take it

    Nice thing about the Warmer Climates. I like this. Would not work in Michigan but it is nice to be able to do things like this!

    Someone wanted to know about it and the time it takes I found that 15 sec worked best for me I did put the link where to get it in the description. Hopefully people will want to watch it and make the views go up a little lol.

    Here is a little hack for ya... Instead of using the manual timer and unplugging the light, get some "smart plugs" that you plug the light into. Then you can use the app for the plug or Alexa app to create a routine where the light turns on, counts down for 15 seconds, and then turns off just by you pressing the button on your phone. Or, if you use Alexa, you can make it so you say "Alexa, burn 160 mesh." I have it set up for 110, 160, 200, 230 and 305

    I was looking up reviews on this Quans light and found you. I had order this but didn’t like how I have to keep unplugging it. I found and extension cord with foot or hand button on Amazon for $9. Thought I’d pass this info onto you to try. It’s GE 42803 3 Outlet Extension Cord with On/Off

    Great video I am glad I came across it because I wanted to buy that emulsion but I did not know what light to use . What’s the distance between the glass and the light also what are the dimensions of the frame ? Thank you .

    How much height do you put on your exposure unit? I keep 24” height but I can’t burn the screens fast like you, I spend around 1’40”sec to complete with one emulsion and 2’40” to another emulsion

    Great set up. We have a similar set up and I always say "you don't need all the fancy equipment to get the job done" I do have a question, what do you use to dry them after washing out in the booth? I place them next to a fan to dry but I'm waiting about 20-30mins for them to dry. Any suggestions to dry them quickly?

    Yes it should as it needs UV light for the Emulsion and this light is UV

    How long do u let ur emulsion dry for I'm doing it for about 1hr an I did burns at 30 but wasn't getting the detail I need

    U can see around the headlights an around the suspension it's missing also the intake part it has lines so I'ma do a 3 min burn an see what happens is 1hr enough to let the emulsion dry it's dry to the touch ? Way sooner if say 30 mins

    Veteran Screen Printing I just bought that chromalite wr. I was using that ecotex from Amazon with mixed results. Need something more consistent

    S M if your talking about the little flood lights in the back hanging. No they do not at all mess with exposing it. I have even done it at night with using with and still nothing.

    I use a cheap timer that I bought at Walmart in the cooking section but you also use your phone

    pukingdeserthobo if you have a lot of stuff running on that breaker circuit that can cause it as well if your not using Chromo Tech WT then that can cause it as well this light should break the time from 3 min to at least 30 sec also how far away is it from the screen

    One consistent question you've not helped with a definite response is the distance of the light from the screen. Please it's important as am planning on building a box. Thanks a lot.

    Idk if you’ll get this since it was 3 years ago but does mesh count and fine detail affect the time you burn

    the higher the mesh the better detail you will get

    Ya I used an exposure calculator an it's saying 3 mins away have same light but mine is 30"way I made a exposer box
