DIY Smart Lights - Home Assistant

Hey. How's it going?
You're probably here because you just watched a 15 minute video about home automation yet it gave you exactly zero clue on how to replicate it. May I interest you in some links to other 15 minute videos?
Step 1: Buy a raspberry pi and install home assistant.

Step 2: Watch a better youtuber than me.
• Home Assistant Beginne...
Step 3: Follow these two videos to a T. I skipped around and regretted it later.
• Getting started with H...
• How to integrate Googl...
Step 4: Install ESPHome on your ESP8266. I found these to be helpful.

Step 5: I think I watched this too
• Use Text-to-speech (TT...
Step 6: If you insist on copying my code
github.com/smit1988/SmartLigh...
I'd link to the parts I used but I would seriously not recommend them. Everything broke. It's not worth it, just go get a Sonoff Basic. Go pause on the video when I show the modules if you insist.
Other than that I didn't do anything too revolutionary. I can provide the 3D models if you would like them, but they're very specific to my setup. The github goes into a bit more detail about the Home Assistant configurations. The Konami code bit was actually legit so I would recommend taking a look at the github above for more information on that. Oh yeah I had to edit it out for time and I'm not sure if it's mentioned in any of the above links; to send a Google Nest voice command to trigger a Home Assistant script, use the Google Home app. Set up a routine. If you followed the above videos correctly, all your scripts should be synced and available to trigger using the app. Simply set your phrase and have it trigger a script. Boom that's 99% of the video.

1:42. THIS. I don't understand why forums still act like it's the mid 90s. SEO is a thing and text based pages like forums have it in bucketloads.

These videos are great. The guy's funny, has a wife that is just as funny and this guy has an electrical engineering degree. And he looks like a Great Value John Mulaney. Found my new favorite channel. I wonder why he's slept on so much... *Looks at upload frequency* You were too beautiful for this world Noah. Alexa play my 'sad mix'. *Alexa plays Genesis - Since I Lost You and Sarah Mclachlan - In the Arms of an Angel infinitum* No. Noah would want us to be jovial in spirit. Time to pick myself up off the floor. Alexa play my 'non-Pump Up the Jam by Techtronic pump up mix'. *Alexa plays Stand Out from A Goofy Movie and I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan on loop*

I'm not dead yet! Much worse - had a kid. Will be back to uploading in 2023...probably! I'm halfway through a banger of a project with 10 pages of jokes to boot.
