I'm also a knitter and this video didn't make me sad, anxious, clinically depressed, suicidal or homicidal. Thanks a lot for the tutorial.

I suggest weaving thread in and out of the loops on the top and bottom of the hole so that it doesn't unravel anymore. After wear and tear, and even hand washing over time that hole WILL get bigger.

I don't understand the people hating on this song. It's an adorable little instrumental piece. I love it. And the sweater is adorable, too. I tried this on one that I would've trashed, anyway, because it was kind of coming apart...but it didn't work. The knit was different, and only one of the areas I worked on turned out properly. Oh well, it was just a practice run.

It's called a seam ripper. You can usually find them in the sewing department of your local craft store. In your local fabric store, I think it's in the notions department. You can also use a small pair of scissors, just be careful to make sure you're only cutting one thread at a time.

you could maybe sew around the ripping with a thin, matching tread, so that you could wash normally, and you wouldn't see the stitching if the knitting is big.
