@@CozyRC Wow! That’s sounds cool, I’m gonna check that out in a minute! I love the quarter scale F-1’s that have the modifiable zenoah engines. I bought a Baja 5B like 10 years ago & built a reed case engine in one before reed cases were a big thing. I bought a lot of really nice parts for it, stuff you can’t get a y more. Wish I kept but I always have a tendency to sell everything cool…🤷🏻‍♂️😂

@@murk1352 Quarter scale Tunnels with gas engines come even closer to the real ones. Although I'm more an 'electric' guy I can definitely appreciate a good handling gas boat or car as well. I do remember the Baja 5B hitting the market with a big aftermarket parts supply. Time goes around so fast..

@@CozyRC no I don't. Am thinking of up sizing your cozy f1 plan I have on pdf file.. any suggestions for the length you think it should be for a 26cc petrol? Also what foam is that you use when you made your cowling?

@@reganhart4358 I don't know much about a gas setup, but I would say a hull length of about 45 inches. Best is to look at gas tunnel hulls and check their dimensions. The foam is called Styrofoam or XPS. Cheers!

Having just commented on your initial Cozy F1 design, I will repeat myself here : absolutely stunning build, beautiful paint job (!), rock solid and stable handling. She looks fantastc on the water ! Catching some excess air going into the wind….? Did you have to swim ? Looks cold….

Thank you Jaques 👍. Running in windy conditions is risky indeed. A tunnel hull flips easily. I don't swim after my boats, but catch them with a fishing rod with an rc tire attached to it. If the boat flips far away from the shore, I just wait for it to drift closer by. Cheers, DJ

Where did you get the decals for the outboard cowling?

I printed them myself on waterslide decal paper, on a laser printer. I put a clear coat on top, to seal the decals.

Insane build, f1 tunnle boats are the best in my honest opinion wich i have a few. Would you be able to build one for me and post to South Australia Australia? Not many f1s on the market these days

Hi D.J, may I ask whether it is possible to simply enlarge the original Cozy tunnel plans (rumrunners) in order to achieve T800- or perhaps even slightly larger size boat ? I suspect it may well be more involved than that… Background : having seen your boats run I am hooked again after a 35 year’ish abstinence from RC boats. A GOOD(!) thing, thank you very much ! I am envisioning your fantastic boat design, sized to accept the MHZ outboard unit. Any pointers appreciated. Cheers !

Hi Jaques, that should basically work. I share the T800 plans as well. I would enlarge it to about 40" or 1000mm length for a MHZ outboard. The smell of cut birch ply and resin awaits…. Can’t wait to get my fingers sticky again, whilst making a complete fool of myself trying to build again after decades. (LAUGH !)
