DIY Polymer Clay Tutorial |: Easy Faux Stone Tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this tutorial I'll show you how to make easy faux howlite. I included embossing powder and metal leaf, but those are optional. Feel free to only use brown paint instead of black and brown for a more subtle effect.
Please leave your questions in the comments below and I'll try to get to them as soon as I can.

Fantastic, howlite is a fun stone. And to be able to copy it and mass produce at a lower price, fantastic. Tfs

Beautiful piece. I love Howlite. When you didn't add liquid clay to Bond the pieces, I wondered if it would be fragile. Thanks for the layer of liquid clay tip. Curious as to how you finished your pendant. Did you make a knot with leather cord or something else?

I typically loop and knot a faux suede cord through it. It's simple, but works well. If it were a little smaller, I could use it almost like a cabochon.

Mmm love this one and now imagining the different colour paints that could be used. Will the heatgun technique work with any liquid clay or does it need to be the Kato brand? Thank you Samantha and have a lovely day.

Yes. The heatgun technique will work on all the main liquid clay brands. However, Kato is the best for a clear finish as it's the brand that has the most gloss and clarity.

Thank you Samantha for yet another wonderful lesson. May i ask how long does it take to cure the liquid clay with the heat gun?

It takes about 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes to cure the liquid clay. Basically I keep going until it's clear.
